Women and football!

Why are men sooooo sexist, and why is it that women never get invited to play footballl? I mean who wrote the rules…ermmm I happen to kick some ass in footie…

Just got this email from someone in my department. I’m thinking of writing a rude reply in response. Gimme some ideas girls!

Greetings all (except the girls).

I have it on good authority that the often talked about footballtournament is being booked as we speak. It should be taking place one evening at the end of the month.

So, I need email confirmations of everyone who wants to play (even if you already put your name down).

May I reiterate that girls CANNOT play football. I’m sorry thats just the way it is. So if you don’t want to cheerlead, streak or make tasty half-time snacks for the men folk then don’t bother replying to this email.

I would also welcome ideas for team names. ‘Distribution united’ seems a bit bunk to me.

Iain.

Re: Women and football!

he did offer you a place, :hehe:

Re: Women and football!

seems like just a teasing mail..

after watching 'friends' where they play football in their backyard on a thanks giving night.. i'm kinda convinced.. if i check a female at 19km/hr, i will feel pretty bad in crushing her..

ps, if u look between lines, he is ALSO stating that its not a co-ed session, meaning if girls want, they can have a girls team play, and ask men to do the bbq hotdogs and burgers waghaira..

Re: Women and football!

^ not that kinda football, i think she meant socer. i hope she did.

Re: Women and football!

yeah...cheeky sod! Ill give him cheerleaders....

Re: Women and football!

^ dont feel bad, its just a guy thing, there are lots of guys who would love to play football with you.

Re: Women and football!

well you can play! they do need a ball to play with.

anyway, joke aside, you can make ur own team and challenge them in field.

Re: Women and football!

lol....i know dan! I think he was 'tryin' to be funny. But seriously they should let women play for the team too.....grrrr girls and boys CAN play together ya know....hmmph

Re: Women and football!

ONLY if you are refering to AMERICAN football. :o

Re: Women and football!

Amreekan football is just too rough, like rugby :frowning: I’m too small for amreekan footie, but soccer i can play…now you dont have to be big to be good at soccer!

Re: Women and football!

Girlz used to play soccer with us in school, and this one girl always used to be the goal keeper and i used to dodge the defenders get infront of her. And she would stand in the typical goalkeeper style, hand and legs spread and iused to score the goal by kicking the ball between her legs.

Re: Women and football!

Football is gunnah for grlz to play wit :mocking:

Re: Women and football!

Erm btw, if this was a "company" email you COULD bring this to Human resources or somethin, n gte him slapped wit gender discrimination (grlz cant play football) and sexual harassment (be their "private cheerleader" , cook).,. at least thas how American offices r (so i've haerd), u make a stupid joke to a coworker n she can hav u slaped wit sexual harrassment :(

Re: Women and football!

LOL sara…i am gona just kick his ass myself…lol he was teasin but it annoyed me why they cant have girls in their team…sexist so and so’s!

Re: Women and football!

Well is he allowed to do that though? It is gender discrimination :p You can jus make him let u be apartof his team (if ur gud enuff to play)n if he doesnt let u coz "ur a grl, n grlz cant play" :p

Re: Women and football!

remind him when he invites you to a date..that you don't have the same values:D

Re: Women and football!

Oh man.. if you sent an email like that in my company you'd have been soooo fired!!!!

Actually, back when i was in England my company briefly ran a women's football team. It fell apart for lack of interest though...

Re: Women and football!

Oh, you guys are talking about soccer.

Re: Women and football!

yes soccer for all you americans who think rugby is football.....!

Re: Women and football!

I never understood why Americans wear so much padding in their version of football. Rugby ismuch more physical but is played with nothing more than shin pads, a groin protector, and a mouthguard to protect your teeth.

Real men pretty much take it for granted that there will be a couple of serious injuries in every match. At school, people with rugby injuries would wear them with pride (after the stitching was done).

And yes… even I have played rugby. With zero protection at all, full contact.
