Should women be allowed to dance? I don’t mean mujras - I mean like going out to a club to dance the night away, or classical dancing, or dancing in front of a crowd in a concert?
See, I just went to the junoon concert and what I noted was that women just weren’t getting up and dancing and when I tried getting up to the stage to get my groove on - my family stopped me, giving me this look - ya know, as if I was just about to be thrown in hell-fire. Another time, we had this school “picnic” which was nothing but the senior class gathering in the gym to celebrate their senioritis with some chips, soda and loud music. I danced the whole 3 hours away and when my dad found out - I had my car, computer access, and social life taken away from me for 2 months! I’m not joking guys. Well, i proved to my parents by showing them the Quran that dancing with your friends (they were all girls by the way) is no big deal.
So what are your thoughts on women dancing? Why is are culture so against it and is it a justified cultural norm not to allow women to dance? Perhaps this might have a better place in the religion section , but its about dancing - and women have not been given a really great chance to experiment with the art and becuase of that i think our film industry and pop industry has suffered!
Yeah i think this is a huge problem…and im sure it will take another 20 years to solve this problem too. Im not against any type of dance but remembering Quran and Islam Im not sure it’s allowed to that extend. Yeah you might be right that you have the right to dance with friends but depending on how you dress up. Secondly i dont think u can dance infront of everyone…there are some restriction too.
Im not that “narrow minded” nor that religious about such things…i tell you one thing, you do it time by time and they’ll get used to it. Im sure…Junoon’s conc. and no dance…this is impossible.
Not even ur parents would care more about it if there wouldnt be those useless ppl who push others and try to teach them.
Anyways I care a f*** about such ppl…i enjoy every sec of life coz life is too short to enjoy.
