^ but seriously - kids from previous marriage - are seen as burden to the new partner - BECAUSE - he will be responsible for someone else's kid...
I think what would make it fair for the woman with kids would be if HER KIDS are given "child care" money from the previous hubby!

My cousin married a divorced guy who had 2 kids from a previous marriage, they seem to be fine, but i know its been a nightmare as far as the kids are concerned, as in his ex wont let him have contact with them, when he finally manages to talk to them, they are rude to him. he has emotional up and downs when he's missing the kids, which does filter back into their marriage.

Why is it such a big deal to marry someone with children? I think children are a gift from Allah swt and rejecting someone on that basis is being ungrateful for something you have no idea if you will even get yourself. Who knows when and if that blessing will enter your life again?
Anyway, it depends on the person too. The parents should be able to balance their life and give his or her new spouse time and affection.
In my extended family a guy (never married ) got married with a divorced woman with a 3-4 years old boy. The guys parents disowned him for doing so. But after not very long , the guy's mother fell very sick and was bed ridden for the next 8 years of her life. She lost her senses , couldn't talk , understand or recognize anyone. Couldn't even take her of herself. Then this divorced Bahoo took care of her for all those years , and the bahoo's name was the only name she used to utter while sick.
The guy then got a good job in middle east and his happily settled with his wife , step son and his own daughter.
