Woman Who Puts On Perfume

I heard oftenly that "Any woman who puts on perfume then passes by people so that they can smell her fragrance, is an adulteress.”

I have three question:

1- Hadith Reference required.
2- We see woman puts on perfume in office, mall and at many different places. So does it means all those women are an adulteress?
3- Adulteress is said in what/which sense?

I dont think one can label a girl who sports perfume as being an adulteress, its a big allegation.

IMO…all Prophet SAW is saying that perfume or make up of a woman should be for her husband. Only he is worth it. It might incite indecent thoughts in na-mahram men (by nature we know how weak men in general are when it comes to sexuality and self control).

Apart from religion it also makes sense from the Ghairah point of view. The rest of the men do not need to know how someone’s wife smells, right. She may use deodorant so she won’t smell **** wherever she goes. But wearing a perfume that can be smelled in an elevator will bring attention to the lady.
