**A jury in the US state of Florida has charged a woman with the first-degree murder of a man who won $17m (£11.2m) in a lottery in 2006.**The body of Abraham Shakespeare was found buried under a concrete slab in a backyard in Tampa, Florida last year.
Investigators say Dorice “Dee Dee” Moore helped herself to millions of Mr Shakespeare’s money before killing him.
Mr Shakespeare, who was barely literate, went missing three years after claiming his lottery win.
Before his disappearance, Mr Shakespeare, a truck driver’s assistant, had complained about being exploited by people who were after his money.
A friend quoted him as saying he would have been better off broke.
‘Biography claim’
“He really didn’t understand it at all. It was moving so fast. It changed his life in a bad way,” childhood friend Samuel Jones said.
Detectives found Mr Shakespeare’s body buried behind the home of Ms Moore’s boyfriend in January 2010. He had two bullet wounds to the chest.
Ms Moore, 37, befriended Mr Shakespeare in 2008.
According to court documents, she arranged to meet him “ostensibly to write a book about his life story”.
Soon afterward, detectives said, she helped him open a company, gave herself the ability to sign for money and withdrew $1m.
Later she told detectives Mr Shakespeare gave her the cash as a gift. She bought a Hummer, a Corvette and a truck, and went on holiday.
