I am amazed to see people who have extra interest in finding and posting negative news about Pakistan and many of them belong to India.
Do they get extra classes in India or a pHD on it? :D
OP has been doing so well with posting jokes and being light and humble....perhaps OP found this the right time to post negative about Pakistan as people start liking him like other Indian posters... :)
The essence here is: By searching one can can find a lot of negative about many other countries and it is ironic that the OP searched and posted something negative about Pakistan.

What I don't get is why the village even allowed these goons to get away with it. It's a public act of punishment, so why would people attend and watch? If all the villagers say, look,
- We're not going to attend these kinds of public punishments
and
- limit these people by blocking them, inhibiting them, and throwing them into mental asylums like what the rest of the world does...
Then I think these problems would die down. It just amazes me a village shows up for such a spectacle and doesn't turn on these guys and in turn beat the **** out of them.

Why would people attend and watch? Such behavior is not only confined to this village. Throughout history crowds have gathered to view gruesome and obscene spectacles. No, this is not a justification. To watch as someone as being stripped of their dignity.....makes the onlookers as guilty as the ones committing the injustice.

I believe the address of this website is PAKlinks.com. This forum is about Pakistan. Most of us here have been to Pakistan. We are aware of what happens in Pakistan and it’s image. Stories like these are not unheard of. Posting of this story reminds Pakistanis that there is still extensive jahalaat in our homeland and we Pakistanis need to put an end to it. Also by sharing this story, we are giving the victims a voice. Who knows maybe some lawyer will come across this and would want to make sure that there is justice for the victims.

Yes....there well should be a limit to criticism.
But distracting from the significance of the incident by suggesting that it is an isolated event is not helping either.
Nobody can truly account for how often incidents like this one or similar in nature occur in our country. What we cannot do is turn the blame elsewhere.

Dude such incidents take place EVERY friggin day in Pakistan. Taking "badla" is part of Pakistani culture, and most of the time it's women who have to suffer and make up for their male family members.

I think no one here is dumb enough not to understand the difference in what is right and what is wrong.

It is easy for anyone to sit thoudansds of miles away from the country of origin and condemn what is haopening there, even I do that..but
Does this help people living there in any way?
It only helps people satisfy their concience (if they have any) that if they left their previous country of residence, they were justified............they have no intention to make the world including their previous country bettter.
And I am quite confident these paople have not done a single thing in their lives to make a change besides posting condemning comments on internet forum(s).
Jahaalat has many versions and meanings.
It is not limited to Pakistan or just one country. If someone has different ideas, then that person should get out more!
My issue with this thread is logical and is based on the OP’s intention.
I see a knee-jerk reaction by people who love to get sucked in to negative posts like this before they sit back and relax and see what is there to comment on.
Pakistan is no lala land and so is no country of similar social/religious or financial level.
OP should know that.
I or anyone with time enough can flood this BB with information horrible and much terrible in many ways about India the home country of OP.!!

huh! cowards weren't men enough so they went after women.. shame on such ppl.. real action needs to be taken against opressors like these.. if there was as much attention given to incidents like these as we give to the taliban issue, we'd probably be able to give justice to the poor ppl of punjab and sindh who, for centuries have been treated as untouchables by rich landlords...

These things happen in Pakistan every other day, noone gets punished properly.
If the criminals were to be hanged, have their b**s cut out then I am sure that would serve as a reminder to all other would-be-scum bags to not do something.
As for the idiots that watch and do nothing like some of tamasha they're a joke themselves and are as bad.
