wo jo sath chalnay ka khawab tha kahin rah gaya kahiN kho gaya
kahiN kho gaya meRa hamsafaR rehi paas ab na wo chahataiN

wo gulab thay k khitab thaY teraY haraf haRaf maiN khawab thaY
teRa taza khaat be mila magaR nahi is maiN pahli se shidataiN

meraY chand tu he bata mujhaY kahaN hai wo meRa zamna-e-saaZ
kahaN thaak k rah gaya meRa karwaN kahaN rah gayeN meRi sungatiN

wo jo mosamooN ka khateeb tha meRi payasi ankh ka khawab tha
wohi ab be mujhaY aziZ hai karaY dil pe ab be hakoomatiN*
