“Pakistani’s brought up in pakistan are usually wittier than the ones brought up in the gulf”
Is this statement true ?
If its true ,then why is it so?
If its not true then why do people have this in mind?

Re: wittier?
^ It's true, and I believe the main reason is that, people in Pakistan usually have to go through lots of hardship in order to get things through, etc, and that's what makes them wittier.
Re: wittier?
Hi L.P How Are You?
Re: wittier?
"Pakistani's brought up in pakistan are usually wittier than the ones brought up in the gulf"
Is this statement true ? If its true ,then why is it so? If its not true then why do people have this in mind?
I think its true but I'll say "Pakistani's brought up in Pakistan are usually wittier than the ones brought up in the UK (since I dont know about Gulf)...well as far as the people I have seen. Here I will give the example of eduction. Pak ppl are wittier in studies than UK ppl. Pak students get to study very hard at an early age. As in like they get to do tough syllabus. Therefore the stuff which they did in class 5/6 - UK students do it in class 9/10. And as already said the reason is that this is how our curriculum operates.

wrong example.. you are comparing students from top pakistani institutions and usually from backgrounds where education is stressed, to a broad group of pak origin students in UK, many from lame schools and from backgrounds where education is not important and they just want to get through o levels and go work at the family halal meat shop etc.
if on the other hand you compare all pak origin students in UK to all pak students, including those poor ones stuck in peela schools, you will find something very different.
Re: wittier?
so you are saying the statement is not true?

same thing, you are comparing a large population where everyone is taking o-levels to the educational elite of another.
compare all UK to all Pakistan and you will have a very different viewpoint.
have you ever seen the educational performance of avg govt schools, let alone the bad ones in Pakistan?

again i am not. i said "the people i have seen so far".
yes i have seen the performance of an average govt school in pakistan. my own.
Re: wittier?
thats wrong...
thats your opinion.
Re: wittier?
Do you mean wittier as in "chalak"? I think that's just a societal thing, dog eat dog etc. In the UK and North America people are usually more polite and considerate whereas in Pakistan everything is haggling and contested. It's just considered normal there.
If you're referring to knowledge, then yes, in Pakistan kids are berated with memorizing ridiculous facts. They know more when they come here because it's introduced earlier. The difference is that, in North America at least, there is a big spike in difficulty from high school to University and that's when the gap shrinks rapidly. As much as education kills creativity in the West, I feel like it's even worse in Pakistan. Students are encouraged to learn idiotic facts and whoever can recite more junk, wins.
Re: wittier?
kisi baat mein tou pakistanis ko baksh dou!
Re: wittier?
Define wit.
I often find that witty remarks may be intentionally cruel and even ingenious than funny and some even cross the lines of sarcasm. I really wish that intellect in our society was not defined this way. How does it even relate to education though?
Re: wittier?
If wit means cold sharp remarks that sting like hell then yes! And damnn they're good at giving it whilst smiling and being all lovely at the same time..
