No, not just attractions, appreciations, inspirations…etc. But a true ISHQ.
The word Ishq comes from ‘Ashqa’, a word used for amar bail (don’t know English word for it). It is a yellowish parasite plant, that when takes hold of any tree, the tree has no choice but to give away its everything to that parasite, and becomes so weak itself that one day the wood cutter comes to cut the tree.
Means, an Aashiq easily gives away all his possessions, time, thoughts, efforts, energy, sacrifices and money for the Ma’ashooq when ISHQ takes hold of him.
Whom do you want to be in ISHQ with ? How would you define Ishq ? Any experiences ?!
So far, nobody! Yes, i do love my parents alot and they are my world but the degree of ishq where i can be total selfless and not expect anything in return, no i don’t think i am there. Not sure if that is even possible to achieve. And i kinda disagree with the analogy you have drawn here, i dnt think being selfless and loosing yourself to someone means you get extinct .
Anyways, If i am to have a greater level of Ishq for someoone, I would wish to have it for Allah. That i believe would be a great life with me being so selfless, close to him and that would get rid of all the stupid worries we get occupied with but which in real have no value. I am sure that would be a much more calmer, peaceful life!

actually it's funny now that i think about, how i've never been in love.... but i guess i never looked at anyone in that way.

Personally, I am in love with Prophet Muhammad(saw) and his sunnah. I try my best to get attention in the eyes of Allah. I also love my parents and my biggest challenge is to be nice with my mom.
