The question wasnt if man and woman could just be friends, of course they can! The question is can a man date a woman for x amount of time and still never develop any feelings deeper and beyond lust and liking for her. Could he still never fall in love with her and never even consider her his everything and picturing and deciding that she is going to be the last woman he is with i.e. make her his wife.
