The second American-led jihad in Afghanistan, this time against the Taliban, has handed Pakistan’s mullas their greatest political victory in the nation’s history. With friends like these, who needs enemies?

in international politics there are no friends. dont you recall that famous line about not having any permenent friends but permanent interests.
a country does not need to be buddy buddy with another, as long as they ahve mutual interests they will work well together.
