Re: Wishing All the best to SonyaK on her Mission

The Questions you all ask are intriguing enough...yo-wasim. I was aked on a different thread to explain how Adam being the first man procreated and how the men do not share the same Y chromosome...and I asked around because it did puzzle me...and one of the answers I rec'd was ""Adam is used to describe the first group of human beings in the Quran not one man, a plural of three or more is used to designate the group."" OK it makes sense as one day in creation does not literally mean 24 hrs but one period. But if you have any ideas about the last part of the answer ie ""a plural of 3 or more is ued to designate a group of 3"' please let me know. What do you think of that suggestion that Adam represents a group of men?...or is this a topic for another thread?

Re: Wishing All the best to SonyaK on her Mission

Sorry - read ""a plural of 3 or more is ued to designate a group of 3" as ""a plural of 3 or more is ued to designate the group"

Re: Wishing All the best to SonyaK on her Mission

Yes what you said is right. I will give this in full detail, and when you read it with the context then you will understand why Allaah is just. Just busy with work.

Re: Wishing All the best to SonyaK on her Mission

I have heard this answer in the lecture series “stories of the prophets”. The answer was that all of our souls have already been created and that all of the souls were in Jannah. When Allah said in the Quran all of you (3 or more) get down to earth, it meant all Adam, his wife and all the souls.
With regards to procreation, this is recorded in Ahadeeth and is the reason why the Habil and Qabil incident happened. There’s an abridged pdf version of the “Stories of the Quran” book by ibn Kathir, you should be able to download it from http://islambasics.com/view.php?authID=70 and look up Habil and Qabil.

May Allaah Bless you and always refuge you from the evil of Shaitan.
Aameen wa rabilaalameen.

Re: Wishing All the best to SonyaK on her Mission

Sheraghfan...sounds good, but then again ...not I have my doubts on the following:
1. Were all souls including yours and mine created on that same day?
2. Were there no new souls created after that? If no new souls created, how do we explain constant rise in earth population?
I am curious to learn and am not trying to criticise. I do need to clear doubts from my own mind. Thanks

Re: Wishing All the best to SonyaK on her Mission

All the souls were created, in the same time as mentioned in the Stories of Prophet, when Adam peace be upon him looked at his progeny and the Prophets who followed him were like lamps amongst them. Were all souls created on the same day I am unsure about this.
Sister Allaah is got knowledge of All things, thats a Muslims foremost faith. Allaah knows the best when we will be born and die.
Before coming down to earth each soul is asked to declare and take an oath "There is none i worship but Allaah".
Allaah provides us with free will, freedom for human kind to think. Do good and forbid the evil. Once your dead and your back to Allaah as aforementioned Allaah is just *for human beings as he had taken a **covenant " There is none i worship but Allaah" * before you came down to earth.
Allaah in Quran asserts human the **Best of his Creation
. This term if analysed unlike the angels, humans have free will.
Since Allaah has granted us a choice and not the angels, and believing in one Unseen God commendable and thats the Greatest of knowledge.
Allaah also called us the best of creation because Allaah wanted Humans to possess the knowledge of God.
Allaah knows the best.

Re: Wishing All the best to SonyaK on her Mission

Here's the tafsir of ayah 7:172 from Tafsir ibn Kathir and it include the hadeeth yo_wasim is referring to

[quote]

(It will be said to a man from the people of the Fire on the Day of Resurrection, If you owned all that is on the earth, would you pay it as ransom' He will reply,Yes.' Allah will say, I ordered you with what is less than that, **when you were still in Adam's loins**, that is, associate none with Me (in worship). You insisted that you associate with Me (in worship).') This was recorded in the Two Sahihs Commenting on this Ayah (7:172), At-Tirmidhi recorded that Abu Hurayrah said that the Messenger of Allah said,
(When Allah created Adam, He wiped Adam's back and every person that He will create from him until the Day of Resurrection fell out from his back. Allah placed a glimmering light between the eyes of each one of them. Allah showed them to Adam and Adam asked,
O Lord! Who are they' Allah said, These are your offspring.' Adam saw a man from among them whose light he liked. He asked,O Lord! Who is this man' Allah said, This is a man from the latter generations of your offspring. His name is Dawud.' Adam said,O Lord! How many years would he live' Allah said, Sixty years.' Adam said,O Lord! I have forfeited forty years from my life for him.' When Adam's life came to an end, the angel of death came to him (to take his soul). Adam said, I still have forty years from my life term, don't I' He said,Have you not given it to your son Dawud' So Adam denied that and his offspring followed suit (denying Allah's covenant), Adam forgot and his offspring forgot, Adam made a mistake and his offspring made mistakes.) At-Tirmidhi said, "This Hadith is Hasan Sahih, and it was reported from various chains of narration through Abu Hurayrah from the Prophet ''. Al-Hakim also recorded it in his Mustadrak, and said; "Sahih according to the criteria of Muslim, and they did not record it.'' These and similar Hadiths testify that Allah, the Exalted and Most Honored, brought forth Adam's offspring from his loins and separated between the inhabitants of Paradise and those of the Fire.

Sister, there is nothing wrong with asking questions or criticising Islam as long as you don't transgress by asking things that are inappropriate. The answers should increase your knowledge and also increase your eeman.

Wasalaamualaikum
