anyone ever gotten their wisdom tooth taken out. If so, does it cause any throat infection?

I’ve had throat infection every now and then, and my molar tooth is hurting. My dentist is out of town for the week.

What are symptoms of emerging wisdom tooth?

i had to get all mine out even before they emerged…and now I am without my Wisdon:bummer:

I had all 4 of mine removed…and no… it didnt cause any infections.

I had all four of them removed, two were impacted and two weren't... Alhamdulillah I didn't come across any pain or infection whatsoever!

i never had any of em removed. and i had no pain whatsoever.

I got one extracted too, and it didnt cause any pain etc, only I had to avoid eating solid food for a couple of days afterwards..

BUT...my friend's dentist damaged her nerve while extracting her wisdom tooth...and nerve damaged once is damaged forever...

I'm not trying to scare you though...ahem!

iv gt an emerging wisdom tooth at moment it jus feels like sumthings pushin on ur jaw, it doesnt hurt or anything, then 1 day ul move ur tongue over it an ul feel ur lil baby tooth comin out.lol.

My experience was painful, but extraction was fine. Extraction of the upper tooth have to be done by a very trustworthy surgeon, if not done properly the nerve infection can effect eyes or even brain in worst cases. I know of a person in Dubai whose infection reached very deep and he actually died.

I had mine taken out..and i live without wisdom..but it keeps your teeth all in line..!

my bro's growing one right now...and it's hurting him like crazy. poor baby. when is it a good time to get it checked out by the dentist?

^ how old is your brother? you might wanna get him checked out by the dentist, and they'll probably let you know when's the best time.

probably do it before school starts up again so that he doesn't have to take days off to recover ...

Mine started iching at nite. Was awkwardly painful till noon. By evening i was normal again.

he just turned 16. it hurts when it starts to pop out of the gum. i think i'm going to get him an appointment soon. the thing is that my mom's and my dad's came out fine, and they never had to extract them, and they came out at his age, so i was thinking that his teeth might be following that pattern.

I only have one wisdom tooth. None of the othe three ever emerged. My new dentist kept saying that I must have had all three taken out at some point and probably don't remember it. I told her that I would have remembered it if I did.

Is it common to not ever grow your wisdom teeth?
