My windon teeth are hurting as hell for a long time and doctor has adviced me to get them extracted, So today I have got an appoitment and to my horror doctor said they are gona extract all 4 at once on tuesday
Does it really really hurt ? How long do they take to be cured? I got 3 days off from work, Would I just be okay in 3 days or what ?
I had my wisdom teeth taken out a few years ago- it was an afternoon and I was given localised anaesthetic- I had all of them removed in one go too- as I was totally numb and oblivious to what was happening- i know that after the removal- i was swollen and the did hurt like hell after- i was okay after 2/3 days- you will be fine- but u wont be able to drive or talk properly immediately after the removal- best wishes!!!
Would you rather live with this pain for the forseeable future,
OR
Would you rather have them extracted, feel a little uncomfotable for a few days , and then be fine after?
I've had mine removed a couple of years back, as they were causing discomfort also..... i had them all removed in one go, and was fine during the extraction. After, i can't say i was in major pain.... my mouth just felt uncomfortable for a few days.
I had mine out about 10 years ago. It’s easier if they take them out all at once. They will give you local anesthetic. I was so tired from worrying that I actually feel asleep.
It doesn’t hurt that much. He’ll give you a curved sringe without the needle to wash the holes where the tooth have been extracted. Take it easy for the first 2 days with eating - but the holes will fill up soon.
Mine were taken out two at a time and I was fine. They gave me local anesthetic and pain killers if I got any pain at home but I didnt. When they pull them out, you're actually SOOOO NUMB all you really feel is someone pushing on your teeth. Its wierd but there isnt even a pinch of pain...just a very odd sensation.
Dont worry girl...stay home and enjoy the pain killer cocktails later! :)
my older aunties always told me ppl shouldnt extract wisodms they will help u in chewing when u turn 70 an d yr molars r no more with u....and wisdom will take place of molars and work like molars...
lol, I called my khala in Pakistan today and told her about it and she was like O.M.G dont do it :s
She reallyyyy scared me to death nd went to me I will have severe pain and I wont be able to get better for 3-4 weeks and get myself prepared for fever and all
^ i would recommed taking more than 3 days.....either work from home or take whole week off.......you will be taking anti biotics and pain killers for few days and that makes u numb in the head and body.....i went to work after 3 days too and was soo sleepy all the time and was still in pain.....had to take more days off then.
I had mine extracted all 4 at once- it happened on Friday and I was back at wok on Tuesday. I had a very smooth extraction.. I was under general anaesthesia so didn't feel the pain at all and then I spent Friday and Saturday sleeping due to meds. I took antibiotics for almost a week but I stopped the codeine on Sunday since I had no pain at all hence not needed!
I had it all very easy!
On the other hand, my friend had two of her wisdom teeth extracted.. she was under local anaesthesia, took forever to numb the place so she could feel the needles poking in an out of her mouth, had pain afterwards, and it took her almost two weeks to recover. It was a nightmare for her!!
Good luck.. it's nothing major.. you will be fine :-)
I had mine taken out and it KILLED. I’ve had cosmetic surgery but this was wayyyy more painful, like 10x more I wasn’t one of those ppl that find a trip to the dentist a big deal but this was something else..
Okay the ordeal is over phew
I have to say I have never suffered from such severe pain in my life
I was given local aneasthesia and I fell asleep within seconds because I dont remember at all what happned, I was all numb for like 3 hours and after that OMG it hurt like hell
There is no major swelling but its still bleeding and feel like throwing up

I had all 4 of mine out about a year back under general anaesth. The operation itself wasn't bad (obviously because I was knocked out) but the two weeks following it were horrible. I couldn't eat because I was in so much pain and I had to stick to foods like custard and ice-cream which is bad because I don't like too much sweet stuff. All I can say is make sure you follow your doctor's instructions carefully because I didn't and I ended up with a dry socket which is by far the worst pain I have ever experienced in my life - hence the extra time it took for me to recover.
When I had my bridges put in my mouth that was PAIN!!! and afterwards for a month I could not eat because immediately after I had them put in I travelled and came to Dubai. Knowing about this experience and in general my phobia of dentists etc I would bare with the discomfort instead of them being extracted. Although my wisdom teeth have been nice to me, they are like almost out and yet they did not pain once. Discomfort was there when they were coming out but not PAIN.
