Most players deserve their spot, but there still are some major glitches. How bout Murali @ number 1. Ridiculous, is it not!?

:smokin: :smokin: :smokin:

Most Ridiculous are

Wasim @ 15 (should be higher)
Walsh @ 10 (Should be higher)

A. Kumble ahead of Wasim Akram :hehe: joke of the century.

What is the criteria - AKPOWER please post the link as well. There must be some other criteria here.

:hehe:

aah i didnt notice that may be because it was not even in the back of my mind some where that this can happen

Asif_k is right there might be some other criteria which akpower is missing

Okay here is what Wisden says about the criteria :-

*"When we launched the Wisden 100 last year - the first ratings system to assess each and every international innings and bowling performance - one of the most frequent questions we were asked was what would happen if you totted up all the findings and averaged them out - who would come out on top?

We already had the details of each performance, assessed against a number of factors including strength of opposition, contribution to the innings and importance. So we added everything up and determined the average points score. This favoured players with meteoric, short careers - so we mixed in a small bonus for length of career with a dash of additional points for milestones achieved. *"

Yes..This is as funny as having I. ul-Haq , S. Anwar , Y. Youhana above AZHAR.

or Imran being higher then Wasim ,Walshy.Ambrose as a bowler.

I think thats the 2nd biggest joke of the century, only after Ganguly being above Miandad and Anwar in one day rankings. :hehe:

That shows how far are you from reality.Worl thinks different that you.

I just saw Asif add the criteria for the standings, so hopefully that would end all the anxiety about it. As for the Inzi-Azhar comparison, here’s a note.

This is wisden’s record comparison of Inzi and Azhar

                          Matches Runs Average Points
26 Inzamam-ul-Haq Pak 136 6091 49.52 824.8
64 M Azharuddin Ind 147 6215 45.04 731.5

Most of the runs Inzi scored has been overseas, and so has been most of his centuries + u cant put a guy with 45 average above a guy with a 50 average + azhar was a gd batsman but he was a better captain (and an even better “fixer”!)

:mocking:

I knew someone will do it.Going by same logic.Tell me who should be on list of ODIs.

M I NO Runs HS Ave SR 100 50 Ct St
Ganguly 218 210 15 8255 183 42.33 74.30 19 50 80 0
Anwar 242 239 18 8605 194 38.93 80.91 19 43 42 0
Javed 233 218 41 7381 119* 41.70 66.99 8 50 71 2

Go tell this to UMAIR.

:mocking: :mocking: :mocking:

what about comparing Imran with others who are below him.

Hey AQ, there is a major difference between the stats u & I produced. Look, as for Javed we all know how many innings he’s played in pressure-packed situations. He’s one 'a the greatest run-accumolators of all time. I just dont get how wisden can miss all that! And dont tell me u dont agree with that. As for Saeed, man i wont even argue. Just ask some “nuetral” people. U’ll get a gd ans.

Same goes for Imran. He’s probably not better then Wasim although has a better average. Walsh, Wasim and Ambrose are just below him, so his position is probably fair. Have a look at these stats:

          Average
Khan- 22.81
Walsh- 24.44
Wasim- 23.62
Ambrose- 23.29
Botham- 28.40

:smooth: :smooth:

stats shtats, who cares about numbers.
Only fools consider Ganguly over Anwar and Miandad.

so when it suits you you consider stats(Azhar vs Inzi),when doesnt then quality of ining and other criteria.

You need to makeup your mind kid.

First the fools considering Ganguly over Anwar and Miandad and now Azharuddin over Inzi, OMG!

Ganguly may be good, but Miandad was special...

AQ, either u’r running out of defenses or u’r not reading my entire posts. all of my stats r followed by some commentary. So plz dont just throw empty words. I’m sure u can do better then that, UNCLE!?

:silly: :silly:

We can do all the debate, but the worst selection is Murali’s position at #1. Was the Wisden team drunk or what???

:smack: :smack: :smack:

:hehe:
A.Kumble ahead of Wasim Akram…
look at kumble’s record…
he’z damn expensive… specially when he’s coming around the wicket to Shahid Afridi:p…
