Is it top 100 of the decade??? or of the century???
Saadia, ODI have been around for just over 30 years, so these records probably cover this period. I think the first offical ODI was in 1971.

Here is an article about the Wisden top 100 performances:
http://www.dawn.com/2002/02/17/spt2.htm
KARACHI, Feb 16: Dashing Pakistani opener Saeed Anwar and pacer Aqib Javed’s record feats in limited over matches find places in Wisden’s all time one-day batting and bowling lists announced in London Saturday.
Anwar’s world record of 194 against India at Chennai in 1997 is placed fifth in the all-time 100 best one-day innings chosen by Wisden.
According to Wisden’s top ten batting and bowling performances, in 1804 one-dayers held so far starting from 1971 to the just concluded India-England one-day, former West Indian captain Vivian Richards’ 189 not out off 170 balls at Manchester in 1984 and 138 not out off 157 balls at Lord’s in 1979 are at the top of the list followed by Sri Lankan skipper Sanath Jayasuriya’s 189 off 161 balls at Sharjah, occupying the third spot.
Kapil Dev’s 175 not out off 150 balls for India against Zimbabwe in the 1983 World Cup at Tunbridge Wells is in the fourth position while Anwar’s 194 off 146 balls at Chennai, still the highest individual score in one-day international cricket, is in fifth place.
Wisden’s best 100 bowling list is topped by Australian Gary Gilmour who took six for 14 against England in the semifinal of the inaugural World Cup in 1975. Pakistan’s Aqib Javed lies second for his seven for 37 against India at Sharjah in 1991-92, which included a hat-trick of lbws.
Aqib is just ahead of his compatriot Waqar Younis, who shattered England at Headingley in 2001 with seven for 36 - the first seven wickets to fall. Sri Lankan Chaminda Vaas’ eight for 19, the best bowling analysis in ODIs, is placed fourth. It included the first one-day hat-trick by a Sri Lankan, and contributed to Zimbabwe being shot out for 38, the lowest total in ODI history.-SADA
so is tendulkar in this list or did he miss out again
I don’t know whether he is there or not, but will not be fair if he is not. The question to ponder though is that if he is not there will the Indian army be amassing on the shores of UK next
The last time a wisden list came out in India, people were furious that Tendulkur was not even in top 100 for test matches.
They even went further and stop selling the wisden books which listed the top 100 test performances in the 100 history of cricket.
Thank you, come again
Ehsan, It doesn’t matter to us weather Sachin is included or not, because you must have seen by now how much respect he commands over a common Indian cricket fan, and believe me it’s no fake. And its not just because of his cricketing skills, its also because of the way he conducts himself on and off the field. (If you still are not sure about it then go and read the match report of Indian Pakistan ACC Test Champ match in Calcutta - in 1999/2000). About the Indian Army comment of yours , I think it does add humour to your statement. I hope that’s what you intended.
Umair, First of all, a common cricket fan doesn’t even know what Wisden is and what it says about cricket - forget about buying the Wisden Book. Believe me not even 0.1 percent of the Cricket fans in India will read or buy WISDEN, (Even If it includes all innings of Tendulkar). Wisden is a book bought out by elite people to keep in their show case and I doubt it if they ever read it. Anyways Wisden is hardly available in a general book store.
And all the euphoria over Tendulkar not included in the Wisden was just a Media hype, who are so desperate to sell their newspaper. We People dont care what Wisden or for that matter even a Bradman thinks about Tendulkar. We are a cricket loving nation and In our country even a Bradman/Steve Waugh/Wasim Akram/Ranatunga/Viv Richards is more respected and loved than many Indian cricketers.
according to me..
Wasim Akram is the best bowler.
and Sachin Tendulkar the best batsman…
and no one dare question it…
cause i don’t know the answer…i just love watching them play
so anyone got the full list yet ????
I was checking out the Wisden top 100 Bowling performances. And though I didn't sit down and count them (I do have a life, ya know), I'm pretty sure Waqar featured in that list the most number of times compared to the rest. Anybody else notice that?
