Which one you use at home? Any specs you can share?
Its 2017, and with emerging technology, which wireless router would you suggest for any home with smart TV, gaming consoles, wireless printer and obviously laptops/smart phones etc.

I am using netgear r6300.. It can also mange by application on mobile phone.
That provide limited operation from mobile app, but you can still restart router and perform some admin level task.
I am happy with it. It is dual band router… 2.5 and 5 both band supported … :cobra:
I always suggest… invest on modem… routers are almost work same… :hmmm:

Re: wireless router
Most of the new routers can be managed via phone app.
Isnt modem provided by ISP? Why invest in that?

My ISP charges money on modem every month, therefore I bought my own modem...
Re: wireless router
I use the Xfinity provided wireless gateway which could has a slot for a battery that could run the modem for upto 8 hours after the power outage. I have also installed Securifi Almond Wifi Extender in my place to make sure we dont have any dark spots at home.
Re: wireless router
I don’t like spend money on wifi extender… I would use cheaper or old router and convert that into extender… ![]()

Actually i've a wifi-extender that i used for downstairs but I noticed that as soon as wifi-extender gets in effect, the network drops upstairs. My guesstimate is that its due to single channel wireless router which is one of the reasons why I want to change it. I believe dual-band router will help in segregating in two channels. Comments?

Is it really that hard to get a signal down in the basement? :p

Sidra54 Its not the basement. Its a high-ranch where right side of the first floor has a small area where signals dont reach aka black hole. Funny, I just discovered it recently myself. But thats not the only reason why i'm asking for this. I noticed my internet gets hiccups when I too many gadgets are on at a time.
