Re: Wireless at Airports

Heathrow: Terminal 3 - B.A Lounge. (Terminal 5 B.A Business/First Class Lounges)

Frankfurt - Luftansa Business Class Lounge.

Schiphol - All business Lounges.

Re: Wireless at Airports

ok maybe i should have clarified in my first post, wireless that isn't available unless you're in business/first class. cuz yeah. yeah.

Re: Wireless at Airports

as niks said, we never paid for that mainly because we never had to. We always had data plan on our phones till very recently (that we canceled cause free wifi is almost everywhere available), but also because never needed to access. i mean seriously I am not going to pay 14 dollars to check my personal emails. When I am on a business trip, hotels where I pay for wifi access are all covered expense anyways.

Many airports do, and in fact many cross country Delta flights also offer in flight free wifi.

Re: Wireless at Airports

^ most of the major airports arent free, for instance, Ohare is one of them. However, with an android phone and the beautiful feature known as wifi hotspot, you dont need to worry about wifi at the airports in the US at all. I just took a trip abroad, Barcelona, Spain had free wifi for 15 minutes but the catch is that they send you a code to your cell phone and you have to have your phone on in roaming mode to recieve it, kinda stupid because you could just clear cookies and log back in again. As for Pakistan, Islamabad had free wifi, worked beautifully was even able to use my phone in UMA mode to make calls to the US so no VOIP blocks there (courtesy nayatel). Did not get the same luxury at Jinnah Terminal Karachi (International terminal). Not sure about Lahore.

Re: Wireless at Airports

It's actually GoGo, they have several carriers, delta included in their list but its not free. It works nicely though but VOIP is blocked, and up until this holiday season google was offering it free of cost, to promote their Chrome browser.

Re: Wireless at Airports

p.s. those that have premium dsl through att at home might be eligible to use boingo wifi for free at airports... you have to put your att username and password when you log into the wifi welcome page where you would otherwise pay for boingo. ATT and boingo are roaming partners.

Re: Wireless at Airports

Most lounges offer Wifi for their guests. But the common areas in those airports do not have free WiFi.

Re: Wireless at Airports

Vancouver and Victoria airports have free WiFi.

Beijing China also has free WiFi but you have to actually go to an internet terminal to get username and password before you can use the internet. They make you scan your passport to get the credentials.

I didn't see WiFi at Karachi airport and there were some old crappy internet terminals you can use for internet access.
