How can one say it has nothing to do with religion or any religious background?

Is it about African or Pakistani Traditional culture to put up a tree?

Because a holiday is a holiday. Everyone has birthdays and people who don’t plan on celebrating your birthday and/ or people who don’t share a birthday with you still wish you, right?

I was asking about what people do during the holidays and if they also decorate or do anything in or around the house to share in the holiday spirit.

Putting up a tree could be religiously significant to those who understand the meaning behind it. That doesn’t mean no one else can put up a tree or lights/ any other decoration.
