It's terrible but the art of Alchoholic tonic is much favoured in the Far East. Often they will preserve a particular creature in a wine bottle to give strength to the wine... and also as a majical Tonic. It's part of thier culture.

Personally I hate Alchohol and love animals... though a mixture of the two is disturbing.
