Is it very offensive to serve non alcoholic drinks to older Paks people in wine glasses

Can you serve someone Wine in Ordinary Glass or try serving it in Desi Katora and see how much that person will appreciate that ........????
Even in Westren World No one will serve you Water or Juice in Wine Glass if you do that they will not like it... Or think .......that you are stupid, not knowing the difference.
I don't understand that why we want to show-off so much. There are glasses specially for water, bigger then wine glasses and different in shape.

I like to drink juice in a wine glas, but wouldn't serve it to a guest, especially desi/muslim could find it offensive.

I like to drink juice in wine glasses at home too. I also dont serve drinks in them to a lot of desi guests. Although its ok to serve desserts in 'em
The reason I asked is that at work we are having a work function and have invited Elder members of the community. The drinks glasses have arrived and there are alot of wine glasses and not so many ordinary water/drinks glasses.
the drinks we are serving are the adult non alcoholic variety and juices.

then it should be ok as u are doing it at work and the resources might be limited there. I've also seen juices being served in wine glasses, so its not a big deal. At first I thought that u are inviting them at home, but as its work related then it should not be offensive for them.

Lazy_daisy, Pubs are not there to sell Orange Juice they just keep it for some who just want it. Nice try anyway ???
If you have problem, try explain it to them I hope that they do not mind it. ( btw you can bring disposable glasses for that purpose, if it is not formal function)
I know my mother will never drink in that glass, even if it is crystal clean. She still thinks that someone else used it for Wine before washing and it might have not been washed properly.

As for your last comment, my mother would be the same and I was worried that some of the older people would be offended for that reason.
All glasses are new, im aware that Muslims and Hindus dont really like to use glasses that may have been used for wine or cutlery used to eat pork or non halaal meat.

but I would get hung drawn and quartered if I offended anybody. and these peopel have SO many hang ups and the offendabilty (if thats a word) is huge.
Im just think of all the things that people may be offended at in order to change.

I love them, there are some really pretty ones out there. However, I wouldnt serve a much older old fashion person with them.

Its better then serving them in Wine glasses, I would say that leave it on the table and they should choose which glass to use, then you will not have any worries.

haha Shahreen. I used to do that with cranberry and grape juice.

I also used to drink cola from a mug and pretend it was coffee but in hindsight it probably would've been better for me to drink actual coffee anyway.

^I used to do that with seven up in a cocktail glass with a slice of cucumber floating in it.
