Windows Movie Maker

I use Windows movie maker for splitting and editing videos. Problem is sometimes when I split the video picture disappearrs and only sound is present. Why is this happening and how can I avoid it?

Also, can someone recommed a reliable easy video splitter that I can download from the Internet?

Thanks.

Re: Windows Movie Maker

HJSplit is pretty good

Re: Windows Movie Maker

How do you split video in Movie Maker .. I know that you can shorten the length of a clip but I never did any spliting in that ...

QuicKtime pro works well for rough cuts and then you can adjust the final lentgh in moviemaker

Pro costs 30 - 35 bucks but is a good nice simple editor and converter on video files

In fact, I am going to upload a video in General , soon .. a 50 sec clip .. that I did ... using Quicktime pro and Movie Maker

I use to have a remarkable video splitter, but lost it when I bought my new system. I am still searching for it, if found will let you know.

I don't know which windows you have, but there are features that can split and shorten the lenght of video. Sometimes the video goes black, don't know why...but most of the windows movie maker have all the features for making movie. See "Clip" feature, it has trim, split and other features

are you an expert in making video?

Re: Windows Movie Maker

Theres one called "Fast AVI MPEG Splitter". You can find it on isohunt.com

As for Windows Movie Maker, drag the whole video into the timeline first and then split it (as opposed to splitting it outside the timeline.

What I want to know is how can one level or improve the video quality of the overall movie?

Re: Windows Movie Maker
