Salam folks,

got a little problem. I installed Windows Media Edition 3 times now and still I have the problem that the gui (graphical user interface) of the windows media edition looks like the one from windows 95. I didn´t change the settings for the gui by myself…

Besides this problem, I have the problem that I can´t install software-drivers like the one for my graphic-chip or windows messenger 7.5!!! I am still using MSN-Messenger 4.0 or something like that.

I can´t open the advanced settings for my computer like > startup programs allowing/not allowing when I type in “msconfig” in the “run” field box.

So my question would be:

Is it possible that a virus has been activated which doesn´t let you install any OS properly again?

Or is there another issue?

Can some tech-expert help?

What did you have before Windows Media Edition? Win 95?
u r not talking about the Millenium Edition rite....

how old is the computer?

I had Win XP and I wanted to try out the WM Edition! Anyway, I banged Win XP on my hdd back again...Anyway, thanks for your help!
