Windows Explorere no more.

I ran a tuneup program which i do once a week to clean the system etc. etc. anyway after todays run, all my desktop icons and the main windows task bar that be’s in the bottom left hand corner and no longer, so under task manager i ran the windows explorer.exe file and i get a prompt saying it is not a Win32 application, so now i can’t even access any files on my comp.

I ran a system restore and no luck. i’ve also tried undoing the run the tuneup program had performed but still nothing. plz help???

Re: Windows Explorere no more.

I don’t know if this is any way related to a similar issue someone else had. Except they couldn’t run .exe programs at all.

You may want to try performing the last steps, which i noted worked for that person. Hope it helps you as well. Hopefully others with more knowledge of this specific issue can advice you on a more specific course of action.

Re: Windows Explorere no more.

Just for grins once you're logged in do a Ctrl+Alt+Del and run a new process - the process is explorer - see if that does anything.

Second solution will and should work for sure (inshallah), is your 'explorer.exe' file may be deleted or corrupted. Check for it once. If so, Copy the 'explorer.exe' file from 'C:/WINDOWS' folder from any working/healthy(eg., your friend's)computer and paste it in your 'C:/WINDOWS' directory and Restart your system. Should solve the problem.
