Ok now that my lappy is gone Its gonna come bk hopefully all fixed. While i was trin 2 fix it on my own, a technician recommended i instal windows 7 unoriginal copy on it n c if that makes diff 2 how the battery was working with the genuine windows. Because he says since the genuine one uploads alot of other progs on yr comp it kinda slows down yr system. Bt i didnt quite like that cuz if im buying a genuine thing and if im paying all the more for a Vaio y shudnt i be able 2 enjoy its features. So it didnt quite make sense 2 me. Even if the basic window set on my laptop helps my battery, its no way cuz i didnt pay all the more to work with a basic laptop.
Anyway, the guy @ Sony, Kuwait said he can install Windows 7 professional on my system and it would run better cuz somehow the windows 7 home premium is 75% in its performance to run in comparison to the professional edition. Now, i dont know if that makes sense so i m asking u guys to advice me. I personally quite liked XP.
i don’t think it’ll make a difference in performance, cuz the basic windows is the same. Its just the extra features are in the ultimate version. i recommend get windows 7 ultimate
That was just an answer to obtain more money. Because Windows 7 Professional will cost you extra on that.
There is not much change being Within windows 7 series rather I thin Windows 7 Professional will be loaded with more option and might consume more battery if those options are set to run with the start up services.
Although by saying unoriginal there wont be much different, but if you find any that someone (private) has cooked “packaged” himself or herself with removing further more options from the genuine built that can be a “bit” less power consuming. Although you may dont know what options has been removed from the self cooked windows 7. Its better for you to stick what you get with the laptop and not to get into advance tweaking as of now.
If you just want to give a try. Install Windows XP on it. But before installing that make sure you made the recovery DVDs of your original Sony OEM Windows 7 (From their Recovery builtin software). Because when you will format C Drive. everything will be gone and can be only recovered if you already have Recovery DVDs.
Also before installing Windows 7 get all Windows XP driver downloaded from their website and copy them on a cd. (If the are offering Windows XP drivers, mostly they dont for new laptops). Although thats also a bit advance work for you.
Riite. I have read up on net alot of times that its always better to go with the windows version the laptop comes with otherwise there r weird issues u wl encounter. how true is that?
that guy at sony did say he can install the prof one and if i dnt like it i can restore bk 2 the home premium since i have its org cds. hmmm.
the windows that comes with the laptop is original. and they have all the drivers etc configured for ur laptop. If you install a different version it’ll be fine aswell , provided you have drivers for every device in ur laptop.
so if the guys at PC repair shop have drivers for ur laptop you can install any windows u want.
