Windies vs. Bangladesh

well who would’ve thought. hmm..

is this the BD team doing better than expected or the Windies playing poorly.

**Rafique flays West Indies **

First Test, St Lucia, day two, close:
Bangladesh 406-9 v West Indies
Match scorecard

Bangladesh posted an imposing total at the close of play on the rain-affected second day of the first Test against West Indies in St Lucia.

**The star of the show was Mohammad Rafique, who resumed on 17 and went on to make a rapid unbeaten 103 off just 138 balls.

He has had gritty support from the lower order, with the last two wickets combining to put on 120 so far. **

Ramnaresh Sarwan was the unlikely pick of the West Indies attack, taking 3-51.

good batting display from habib-ul-basar, ashraful and Muhammed Rafique

:k:

if they bowl well they’ll win the first one

Bangladesh : 416/10(135.3)

West Indies : 91/2(29.4)

go bangla… :k:

West Indies 193-4

wow. it will be something if the Bengalis manage to win this match.

Damn, Bengalis are playing better than expected. either that or WI lost focus. But I'm sure Lara will somehow take care of that.

Bangladesh

whatz the buzz? why is everyone surprised at bngldsh? :konfused:

dev watmore creating potential grinders here :k: boundous have played very well in this test match so far, and habibul bashar just gets better and better i really regard him highly as a batsmen + hanan sarkar also is a good batsmen when he gets going.

hopefully we’ll see the boundous breaking their duck and winning their 1st test match

And just a few years ago everyone was saying bangladesh should be stripped of their test status.

They will only get good by playing the best.

^
just a few years ago bangladesh did not have any test status....

Did they not have test status about 2 years ago? if not I am mistaken.

Playing Bangladesh and Zimbabwe is a lose-lose preposition. If you lose you are laughed at, if you win, no one gives a $h!+. Koi faida?

another century from Bangladesh side and this time it is from former captain Khaled Mashud. Bangladeshi's declared the innings for the first time in the history and then Gayle and Devon Smith hammered the Bangladeshi's bowlers..

the match ended as a draw.

That's a great achievment for Bangladeshi cricket. Drawing their first ever test match on West Indies soil. Remember, the carribbeans used to be the funeral home for many cricketers. Many teams have gone and lost badly. Good job mere Banglai bhaayo.

'used to be' are the operating words here. The team is a basket-case.

well said, windies bowling has finished completely, gone r the days when the likes of walsh, ambrose, holding, marshall etc could send chills down any batsmen's spine, those were days when the windies had the most feared bowling attack in the game.

lara in the currently drawn test match had to turn to part time bowlers {sarwan + chandrepaul} to look to bowl out the boundous, lawson, collins etc couldn't bowl out the boundouz in the 2nd innings, and @ 1 time the boundouz were 94/6 in their 2nd innings so lara had to bring on sarwan and chandrepaul, now when ur kaptaan brings on part timers then things aren't rite.

but taking nothing away from the boundouz they played very well, they r showing signs of improvement under dev watmore and they should look to build on this

Gayle when he'll be 50 [thumb=H]115637_95430374.JPG[/thumb]
