Re: Windies V India
Windies batting is very erratic just like ours
They are making Indian trundlers look like world beaters
I only rate Ashwin among Indian bowlers
Mohit, Shami and Yadav are not the kind of bowlers that will win you test matches esp. outside india
That is why test cricket is a superior format
Re: Windies V India
WI 72/6 off 22.0 overs...going pretty bad for the Windies... :D
PS: India appear to have a very powerful think tank after the NZ in this tourney...
Re: Windies V India
On a serious note: India's bowling is like that of Pakistan's past ..... Two fast bowlers hitting regulary the 90mph mark and quality spinners
There is no comparison
The same bowlers got spanked in the test series. This attack is adequate for ODIs though
Pakistan's pace attack is still better, if only our batsmen could put some runs on the board

Gayle had a brain fade. He got frustrated after Samuel’s runout and threw away his wicket. He let his anger get to him. Just can’t bat sensibly under pressure

I don't think our Bowlers are going to fare much better against aussies at home ..... Sure i agree that at times our bowling attack fared better but there enough occasions where ppl like broad managed to score well ..... It isn't W & W anymore although i've hope that once Junaid, Aamir are back, Irfan a little fitter and faster things will look a lot better ...... Right now :Sigh:
Re: Windies V India
Well done wi and india

Yes. In a game of inches when the opponent got all the in es and then some
Re: Windies V India
Looking like a 7 or 8 wicket defeat for hapless Wi
Re: Windies V India
WI 106-7 after 30 overs

ahem ahem, Indians are actually world beaters. Current World Champion and CT winner.
Indian bowling is very much underrated, they have risen to the task everytime team needs them.
Re: Windies V India
I know how you feel, there is a mauka ad from star sports for it.
Re: Windies V India
WI 162/8 off 40.0 overs...a little recovery by the Windies... :D
Re: Windies V India
Finally it will be some contest.
Re: Windies V India
Holdar the young kaptan has shown some good responsibility, lead from the front.
Top order should hang their head in shame.

jazbati logo, India are a very good ODI side because of their strong batting. Teams have pressure, pressure of knowing that they need to score close to 300 every time in order to challenge the strong Indian batting. That pressure often induces mistakes from batsmen. Gayle, after the loss of those two early wickets then needed to bat sensibly for the next 20 overs or so but he let the anger and frustration get to him. A player like him can change the game in 5 overs let alone 40 odd overs. In tests you have no such pressure of run rate. You can take your time to tame the trundlers.
In ODIs you don't need to take all ten wickets. Hence bowlers who know how to contain (Mohinder Amarnath or Mudassar Nazar type bowlers although the latter was also famous for breaking difficult partnerships in tests) often do well.
During the recent test series in Australia, India batted well but time and again bowlers failed to finish off the innings. On many occasions Australia's last 5 scored more runs than the top 5! There is a reason why India have lost 11 of the last 12 tests in Australia and England; bowling just not good enough for swing and seam conditions imo.
India's bowling is adequate for ODis and I would maintain that even if they go on to win the world cup.

Is Gayle of today a minnow basher?
failed against Pakistan
failed against South Africa
failed against India

No matter what stats say, no bowler in the world would call him that. Despite of his repeated failures in crucial matches he remains a danger man. On his day no bowler would like to face him. He is opposition captain's worst nightmare.
He just dont seem interested in performing well, looks like his performance depends on his mood.
Re: Windies V India
BTW, India dropped 6 catches today. Their poor fielding is only overshadowed by poorer batting by WI. This could be a concern against quality sides.
Re: Windies V India
West Indies coached asked them to make sure Indian team doesn't make more than 200 runs in this match.
They accepted the challenge.
