What do the members think, which was the better team:
The Windies team of the 80’s led by Clive Lloyd or the current Aussie team led by Steve Waugh.
My view is that the windies team of the 80’s under Lloyd was way ahead of the current Aussie team as it swept all before it, both at home and away.
Had Clive Lloyd’s 80s team come to India they would have whitewashed the Indians 3-0. That says it all. If you recall, after India won the World Cup in 1983 by beating the Windies, they came to play a series in India and just destroyed the Indian team in the tests and one dayers. You cannot even begin to compare the two teams. This Australian team is good but they have won just too many of their tests at home in familiar conditions (with some friendly umpires

). In fact South Africa and Pakistan (and to some extent the recent English team) have won a lot outside their respective countries.
