With Zardari left with less than 7 weeks in the Presidency and haunted by several cases, will he try to sit out his tenure in Britain/Dubai or will he return to Pakistan to serve his remaining constitutional term?
Apart from legal tangles, he will also have to face new security ground realities once stripped of official security cordon. Though he will still have some official security cover by virtue of being a former head of the state, but given the nature of threats, that may not be enough for his security.
Politically speaking, he may not see any burning need to stay in the country once his tenure is expired. Khurshid Shah is already quelling rumours that Zardari will not return to Pakistan.
