Girls proposing or even a girl’s family directly asking for a rishta is a big no-no in desi society. Sigh… the rules we set for ourselves…

I don’t see any problem why a girl cannot/should not propose …however as IceSoul said, it’s the rules we have set that makes it a frowned upon thing.
