in the future u r kids never learn ur own provincial language..?.like for ex if u r family is originally from punjab then punjabi..if ur pathan than pastho..?..do u think just them knowing urdu is good enough?..
i personally wouldnt mind if my future kids couldnt speak punjabi bcs i cant much either n i dont really care ..urdu is good enough for me..
I'm gonna be majorly sad. I'm punjabi, and yeah i can't come up with bhangra lyrics and my vocabulary isn't all that great, I taught myself how to read and write in both urdu and punjabi so I can pass it down.
It can be really sad..I think about it.My parents spoke Urdu to us but speak Punjabi with each other.Pushto was lost in our family. We as a family speak in Urdu(apart from when really angry:halo:)My husband speaks Siraiki but doesnt with the kids, neither do I speak Punjabi .
It is saddening that we loose our mother tongues. I wish I could try to revive it with our kids..I am trying though:(
