will there be more attacks like apc? GOD FORBID

WHAT are the chances. what is the likely hood that these things will happen again, other schools, colleges. for those who live in pakistan with kids, if you had the chance, would you leave.

i know theres alot of patriotism, so please keep that aside.

Re: will there be more attacks like apc? GOD FORBID

on fb, theres warnings about lahore colleges etc,.

Re: will there be more attacks like apc? GOD FORBID

Someone whose family lives in Peshawar was telling me that there was a warning for an attack on Karkhano Market in Peshawar. May Allah keep everyone safe.

This is a panic affect. Similar several “warnings” came out after 9/11 in USA within first few weeks. Whole nation was fluctuating between red and orange alert for few months. In Urdu, we call it lakeer peetna

Re: will there be more attacks like apc? GOD FORBID

That’s what scares me about such incidents…the thought that one heinous crime that took place might serve as as “inspiration” for some other sick minded person/s out there.

Re: will there be more attacks like apc? GOD FORBID

The color coded alerts lasted all the way through President Dick Cheney 's second term.

Re: will there be more attacks like apc? GOD FORBID

I am not living in Pakistan but my friends living there would move to west in a heart beat. And they are pretty well off, living in defense etc. but they applied so many times for a visa for their son but it got rejected. I have lost 2 of the people in extended people to mosque bombing in khi. Even though life is pretty good there for most part but there is no law and order. Even terrorist incident aside, burglary, snatching, lack of resources - to be honest I wouldn’t want to live there or my children to grow up there.

And I think there could be more attacks like that albeit unsuccessful hopefully because government I hope should be doing something about it. Sole reason is because Pakistanis don’t seem united in this tragedy. Even on this forum some people just make excuse for this terrible ordeal and even in Pakistan there are several sympathizers of Taliban.

The other day, I was thinking if somehow I could immigrate all those people here. Oh well

Re: will there be more attacks like apc? GOD FORBID

due to hangings yes there is threat, thts y all schools n unis got off due to security concerns but security all over Pakistan increased, just avoid too crowdy places

Re: will there be more attacks like apc? GOD FORBID

I wouldn’t leave and I’ve had all the windows of my house blown up. After that incident I sat down with my parents and we firmly decided moving out of the country was not an option we were interested in. Everyone’s going to die at their prescribed time and place and we were going to choose Pakistan. :smokin:

Besides I don’t think religion has a future in many countries people are moving to. I don’t even know anyone white/black who doesn’t think religion is a dumb fairy tale that’s an excuse for homophobia and discrimination. I have no idea how Muslims are going to smooth those edges especially when the next generation is going to be less forgiving of our quirks.

I’m also going to be crap at assimilation and I think it’s rude to completely refuse to do so in one’s new homeland (which I’ve seen people do like not even bothering to learn the language or customs).

Re: will there be more attacks like apc? GOD FORBID

All schools and unis are closed in Lahore

:frowning:

Re: will there be more attacks like apc? GOD FORBID

^ They are closed around this time of year for winter vacation anyway.

Nadz, after the tragedy Peshawar suffered, you have all rights on the earth to be concerned and worried honestly, Pakistan has been a mad man’s land now where you never know whats going to happen next and who is going to pay for what. I dont know in such circumstances it even qualifies to be patriot enough to stay and put your precious life to risk. People are dying and that too without any cause, and cause effect. If you can, make sure you live safe, where ever you may live.

Re: will there be more attacks like apc? GOD FORBID

Hopefully not. Stay positive.

Re: will there be more attacks like apc? GOD FORBID

Oh yes let’s stay positive. These baboons will figure out eventually they need to stop bombing, they are just angry their behinds are getting whooped in the offensive since summer. You know, after they tried taking over an airport but they’re all really nice people really. They have beards and they stand up in prayer 5x a day. And play volleyball.

Re: will there be more attacks like apc? GOD FORBID

well, you are the best judge of your own situations. only you can decide what to do. true that there is a danger lurking 24/7/365 out there. you may consider moving out temporarily. watch the situation and if it gets reasonably better then move back.

Re: will there be more attacks like apc? GOD FORBID

I’ve already suggested to nadz to move to Islamabad. But I guess, it’s not always easy to take such measures. So that’s all you can do, pray and stay positive. Panicking about it won’t solve anything.

Re: will there be more attacks like apc? GOD FORBID

We live in a country where you expect those people to provide you safety who are so insecure themselves that they block all roads before going anywhere.

Re: will there be more attacks like apc? GOD FORBID

Move to Islamabad won’t be possible as threat is everywhere really. And the best option is to go back. I am not a Pakistani nationalso for me it should be dead easy to leave really. Have no idea why I’m confused and stressed.

Re: will there be more attacks like apc? GOD FORBID

May be because you don’t want to part with your husband? I know a British Pakistani girl married to Pakistani man…they have three kids, she lives in England and spends summer holidays in Pakistan. So far, it’s working out fine with them. Of course, there are ups and downs and it’s difficult living without your man around but when you have kids you really need to start thinking about your priorities.

Re: will there be more attacks like apc? GOD FORBID

Another family we know…they are Brit-Aussie. Husband works in London and wife and three kids live in Portugal coz they feel it’s a better country for raising kids.
