What happens when politicians impeach Musharraf and he refuses to exit as President?
Will there be another army takeover in Pakistan? Another coup?

yeah pakistan's army with out pay is already taking over. Remember beard + turbans?
Sad part would be when ppl find them better option than corrupt politician.
Re: Will there be another army takeover in Pakistan? Another coup?

If he refuses to exit after successful impeachment then he'll probably be "arrested" and sent to exile (a la Nawaz Sharif), but anything can go wrong. God save Pakistan.
will there be another coup in Pakistan in future?
the way things are currently, yes defintely.
when, I dont know. I dont think it will be now and led by musharraf or his loyalists in the military.
after zia left, the view was we will never have a military govt again until Musharraf showed up, now maybe it will by Kiyani or maybe it will be someone whose name we have not heard much, kinda like no one really knew Zia in 1973
Army is going to stay neutral and would follow their duty according to constitution in words and spirit. Army would let the Parliament and President do what they can do to each other according to constitution. It means that army would not interfere as it did when Ishaq Khan dissolved the parliament of Nawaz. Even though Parliament was dissolved, at that time Army did not stayed neutral and non-interfering, as later they interfered on behalf of Nawaz, forcing Ishaq Khan to resign, even though constitutionally Ishaq Khan as President was supreme commander of forces (Army, Navy and Air force) and did what he was entitled to do constitutionally.
As it is constitutional right of Parliament to impeach President, President also have constitutional right to dissolve the Parliament. When President takes his constitutional step of dissolving parliament, President orders Armed forces to moves in and takes over whatever steps needed to secure the country, and army being neutral, obeys the command of President as their constitutional duty, Simple as that. So, let see what would happen and who would use what constitutional rights they have. It may take weeks for Parliament to impeach President but it takes only one minute for President to dissolve Parliament.

Was Nawaz not required to resign (govt dissolved afterwards)?
Re: Will there be another army takeover in Pakistan? Another coup?
^ Can you please make a prediction saleem bhai :)
Was Nawaz not required to resign (govt dissolved afterwards)?
Hes distorting the whole thing. The supreme court overturned the presidents decision to use 58 2b, and restore his Govt. The army didnt have anything to do with that. Afterwards, NS and GIK both resigned together.

You are right, SC reversed GIK's govt dissolution. For the resignations I believe that was result of army's "consultation" with the two parties

What I remember, when parliament was dissolved, army was not happy about it. Nawaz went to court and court gave verdict that allegations used in dissolving the parliament was not enough for Parliament to get dissolved. Nawaz got reinstated and then tension started between Prime Minster (Nawaz) and President (Ishaq). Army interfered and made both resign.

You lie too much and accuse other without any substance. I am not Liar like NS, his goons and supporters nor distort anything. It is lie that army had nothing to do with resignation of Ishaq Khan.
Re: Will there be another army takeover in Pakistan? Another coup?
I said the army didnt have anything to do with the Supreme Courts decision to restore the Govt. I know you are a little upset these days, but atleast read properly before venting your frustration
And yeah, I love your ‘truthful’ posts and predictions
Happy now ![]()
