Sikhs have been struggling in their fight with the Indian government for their own homeland, Khalistan… Many Sikhs were against Khalistan before 1984 (attack on Golden Temple, and Riots all over India), but after 1984, most Sikhs demand Khalistan. Sikhs were/are the foundation of the Indian military. After the partition in 1947, 80 percent of the Indian army was Sikh, and only 2 percent of the whole India population was Sikh.. Figure that one out. British rule on India was for 200 years, and in Punjab only 90 years because Sikhs were in power there. The great Ranjeet Singh was the emperor ruling Punjab; he defeated moghuls and aggressors. There were many SIkh-Anglo wars, and the final one Punjab was defeated with Britain and its “borrowed soldiers”… It is a known fact, that Sikhs were the ones that saved “Hindus existence”… One story: In 1600-1700 the moguls had slaughtered thousands of hindus and kidnapped 1200 hindu women.. and it was at that time the SIkhs went out and saved those 1200 women and returned them back to their homeland. But to the point now, There was a Saint, Sant Ji Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale, who taught Sikhism all over India and spoke to journalists from all over the world… He has never demanded a Khalistan, but did say if it was given to them, they’d accept. He was known to be a leader to the Sikh community. The Hindu government in power at that time, Indira Gandhi, proclaimed him a terrorist and wanted him dead at all costs, no matter how many innocent Sikhs died and did not care about the most religious temple (Golden Temple) in Amritsar, Punjab… Before June 1st, 1984 the INdian army surrounded the golden temple… Indira’s master plan was the “OPERATION BLUE STAR”, which they said was to flush out the terrorists hiding in the temple… When in fact, there were no terrorists, and no found weapons storage hidden, nothing… So on June 1st, 1984 the firing began; in the papers they say June 5th, but an eye witness said 32 shots were fired at the Golden Temple on june 1st, 1984. Whats Ironic was that, that weekend Sikhs were celebrating the martyr of one of the guru’s, and thousands of Sikhs had come from all parts of India. There was an immediate curfew imposed all over Punjab and international media was kicked out of punjab.. Punjab did not have contact with the outside world, let alone the surrounding states. By June 10th, the golden temple was blown down, and the count was over 400 sikhs were killed, including many women and children. An eye witness said that the indian army was gathering young Sikhs from the neighboring villages, and tieing their arms behind their backs with their turbans and shooting them point blank range… This is supposed to be the World’s largest Democratic Country.. but has the worst Human Rights Violations in the world. Even the sikhs that had come out with their hands over their heads, were shot same execution style… It was then after that Indira Gandhi was shot 6-7 times by her two SIKH Bodyguards for the revenge on the Golden Temple, the holiest place of Sikhs. Her son, Rajiv Gandhi, then took the Prime Ministers position and he also had a master plan FULLY planned to wipe out sikhs in the hindu majority states (mainly New Delhi)… On November 1st, the riots/pogroms took place: there were three groups of hindu rioters, the first being the ones to kill every sikh in sight and rape the women, the second being the ones to loot the houses and businesses, the third being to put kerocine/gas on sikhs and light them on fire. Over 4000 innocent sikhs were killed, hundreds of women raped and hundreds of children killed. Sikhs were facing the raft of Hindu aggression against Sikhism. SIkhs demanded their own homeland but the Hindu government had other ideas. They hired currupt cops all over Punjab in a policy to put Punjab to the floor. Starting from 1985, innocnet sikhs started getting picked up by the local police, tortured in many brutal ways… there are over 200 cases of dissappearances discussed by the British human rights people in Punjab. The currupt cops were/are being paid extra for every “alleged terrorist” they kill. Free drugs, especially Opium, are all over Punjab, includin Liquor at ******** low prices so the SIkh population will go towards that wrong path and have physical weakness, and mental weakness… If this is not a good enough reason for the Sikhs to demand their own homeland, I don’t know what else to share with you.. But im pretty sure EVERYone of you already knows this, I have learned so much from you guys and your posts!! But a wise white man walked upto me during Nagar Kirtan (Sikhs celebrate Vaisakhi by walking in a parade) in Toronto, and told me there will be a Khalistan within 20 years… What do you guys think? Do you think Sikhs will have the magic they once had in 1984, but just a little bit more to actually achieve it?

^ I actually know the wise old man that walked up to you in Toronto and told you some thing. He said he was intrigued by the fact that a non-Sikh such as you would attend the Nagar Kirtan and participate with such gusto in the proceedings. He wanted to have some fun and asked your how you are and this question about Khalistan.
But he said he asked you if there will be any Khalistan 20 years from now, thinking it was a tropical fruit and with all the mangroves depleting, he was worried

asif86 Can you start the Sikh history from the point when some of Sikh Gurus were beheaded by Muslim rulres and explain the correct reasons and date when you people became their well-wishers.
