YES...it has to...it's derogatory to human values, it's unnatural, it's man-made mess and it's not what the masses want. i think those who practice caste-system are less of a human. i pray to Allah, that this social evil disappears...jaise** "gadhe ke sar se seeng Ghaayab ho gaii"**** :)**

If the caste system disappears, human beings will just find other ways to segregate themselves. Its just how humans are.

Doesnt that already exist? like people who only want to marry people who are very rich, or very educated, because slightly less educated people are considered low.

No. Many Pakistanis can't consider marrying someone outside of their family, let alone anyone outside their caste.

it wont die out completely for sure, but I feel it might just become a lot more acceptable to marry people from other castes.
In Bahrain it self i have seen numerous Bhatia's marrying Gujarati's and Bhatia's marrying South Indians etc .... ( as long as both the boy and girls are Hindus )
Personally I don't believe in castes at all, probably because I didnt grow up in India so it wasn't drilled into our heads. I studied in a very cosmopolitan school we had kids from all religions and all parts of India and a lot of Bahraini's.
For me , I am a Gujarati Soni or what we call Vaishnav's so any other Gujarati be it Patel's, Luvana etc etc, is just the same.
Yes I would prefer to marry within my caste, but that's just because of the adjustment factor. For me the only thing important is that the boy should be a Hindu. That's it.

Can you not see the difference between what you would personally like for yourself and expecting or pressuring your kids, grandkids etc to marry within their caste whether they want to or not??

it's been dead on my mother's side of the family for a long time. none of my khalas aur mamoos married into rajputs. But my dad's the only one to marry outside the caste (this was all arranged). i don't believe in all the caste stuff at all, you can find happiness anywhere. of course some cultures might not be so relaxed about it because the whole society is based upon certain things you can and can't (or don't do). thankfully that's not the case with muslim societies most of the time, so i won't be pressuring my kids to marry into this or that.
