That won't change my eating habits. Its such a guilt trip video! I hate stuff like that!

I will however condemn most of the abuses catalogued in that video. I suppose its all about being careful and aware about where your food comes from. I don't know about everything I eat, sure but most of our meat comes butchers who use proper techniques. Animal abuse is awful and from a religious POV, its Haram.

Also, that video is freakin' annoying because the guy is trying really hard to make even normal practices sound awful, like the part where he calls the people cutting the necks killers! Meh! Then they throw in a couple of shocking abuse videos for the added effect. Pffft, bunch of tree huggers!

well to be honest - I feel it like bit exaggerated - even in ar desi Land they dont treat animals that bad - how could they in west .

Yes but apart from slaughtering them - rest of the common practices were kinda disgusting for my liking _ I dont approve that andhence I wonder how come monitoring agencies out there ..

i didn't watch but my aunt always takes me past the slaughter house in the city she lives in cuz she's a vegetarian to get me to stop being a nonvege but it never works. most of my family has always been nonveg so it's something that would be hard to give up, have to have seafood atleast. not much of the chicken but defo seafood.

This. Animal abuse is cruel and wrong, but it doesn’t make you cruel or wrong for being a non-veg. Humans are omnivores and we’re on top of the food chain, of course we have to eat our meat. PETA usually rely on the shock value of videos like this to convert the faint hearted.

I didn't watch it...but I know I can't live without meat...and I think our (desi) methods are better than how they might be doing it here in the west. My relatives had a chicken farm once..and they did not torture them..just a slice through the neck to sever the head. I have seen it my self. I have seen other animals being shot too..straight to the head.

But, the video is made for a reason. Not to stop the cruelty. But making people become vegans.

Will be honest I dont like buying meat from shops and after seing the kind of practice in one Arab run Slaughterhouse I decided some years ago that my good friends out in the country can supply me every few weeks with livestock that I slaughter myslef in the Islamic way.

I am probably one of the worst culprits for doing zibbah in the UK but even gorras approve and first time I zibbahed a Bakree I shared the meal with my nieghbours Barbecue style… :yummy:

Such videos do put me off buying from others, but nearly all the meat I have ever consumed in the UK and all of it in Pakistan was either slaughtered by myself or by a fammily member… this is normal for me.

Bhai Gerber are awesome blades… but really why zibbah a haram hippy when you could have a live chicken for a quid or a goat for 30? In the UK theres a terrible habbit of eating sheep meat, but I dont like it much… lambs great but old sheep… too much fat and gristle, better to go with goat. :yummy:

No the video hasnot turned me into a vegetarian but its one of most disturbing thing i have ever seen and truly shocking.

these people are totally cruel.

surely an animal has to be killed before ppl can eat it but there are certain ways.

TOO sad that these animals cannot even fight for themselves or cannot even describe their pain through words. hum khush kismat hain ke hum insaan hai kyon ke humain koi takleef ho tou kam az kam hum bol ke ya cheekh ke thoda bohat apna dard tou kam ker lete hain.

jaanwar be-zubaan hota hai aur bezubaan pe zulm karna ek bohat bara gunaah hai.

agar kisi din kisi jaanwar ne in logon hamla ker diya tou inhe bachane wala koi nahi hoga.

ahhhh and then they talk about animal rights.

Aye, its disgusting alright. People who are cruel to animals are psychopaths, just like people who test their might on the vulnerable members of society. They should be dealt with like any other criminal.

I almost always slaughter atleast one of the animals on Eid Al Adha.

PETA is absolute scum. They're no better than any other propaganda machine out there. I love meat and nothing is changing that!
