why Yahya Khan did not hand over power to AL, knowing that they won the majority. Don't go for stupid answer that Bhutto advised him to do so. Bhutto was only winner in West Pakistan no thing more. He had dick powers to do anything. It was dictator who instead of handing over power, started genocide. When they used Bhutto, hanged and sent his dead body to his ancestor town. And that is the truth.
and how ZAB was responsible when he had dick authority to hand over power to Mujib. What stopped yahya khan to ask Mujib to form the government? why you blame Bhutto? You can not absolve military rulers by falsely blaming Bhutto of the tragedy of 1971.

Yehya Khan was Kind of desendent of Mir Jaffar and Mir Sadiq ( these two are classified as National Traitors in history of Bengal and Maysore respectively), he was like any dictator will never let go power out of his hands, latest example is Zimbabwe's President, who donot want to giveup power even though he knew that he has lost...
ZAB was another person who was dying with the lust of power, he wanted to be in power no matter what and ( i don't know what he offered to Yehya) and i'll not be suprised if anyone will tell me that he acutally invited Indra Gandhi to attack Eastern Wing of Pakistan.
Having said that, Mujeeb himself was not so different form above
