I just read this article on the condition of Iran’s 20 million strong Azeri minority, where there are growing rumblings against Persian domination.
If you are not already aware, Iran is a multi-ethnic patchwork of several distinct communities. The Kurds and Baluch, who are both linguistically and religiously distinct have had a long history of insurgent violence. I believe if this Shia clerical Persian republic does not reform, Iran will disntegrate.
