My husband and I are moving house in a bit and we went over to the new house over the weekend to begin organising a few things. The new house is in Yorkshire and is more in the countryside than the current house (we currently live in London). In the evening, I went to get something I’d left in the car and I heard the creepiest, most macabre sound. It sounded quite human, rather like women screaming/crying. My husband calmly tells me “it’s just a fox, there’s loads of them around here” but I still found the sound a bit disconcerting. Does anyone else find the sound/cry foxes make rather eerie, almost like someone screaming? Do any of you live or have you lived in the country?
Re: Wildlife and living in the country
Maybe it was a banshee!
If you ever met Jeff then he would tell you that you are not Foxworthy
Re: Wildlife and living in the country
Post #2 nailed it. Shyam is known to roam the countryside with his bansee.
Re: Wildlife and living in the country

Re: Wildlife and living in the country
^Yeah! but since they are drunk, they wander all over the globe.

Yeah, the first time I heard a fox howling I literally thought it was someone being attacked.. It sounds like screaming..
We live on the outskirts of London and there's countryside nearby so we often see animals and birds roaming around.. At my mum and dad's house we've had ducks in the swimming pool lol
Re: Wildlife and living in the country
Just pretend that you're in Skyrim, are the Dovahkiin, and that the sound was an impending dragon attack.
Re: Wildlife and living in the country
Was The Phantom''s Devil a dog, wolf or a fox? The airport folks could never figure it out.
