yes it can apply to Zardari and PPP to some extent... bringing all Pakistani into it doesn't make any sense but again sensible thinking is not what is in practice by PPP
And what you say is sensible? Read what you have written earlier.
Re: Wiki leaks… possible impact on pakistani politics ?
While Zardari is notorious for corruption, it is the military that has made corruption into a science:
“Pakistan’s army chief said the money, including $26m (£15m) for barbed wire and $70m (£43m) to defend against non-existent Taliban warplanes, had been diverted into the Islamabad government’s coffers, according to leaked cables to Washington.”
“One of the most contentious issues is coalition support funds (CSF) – US payments for the war against the Taliban and al-Qaida in the tribal belt that have exceeded $7.5bn since 2002.In December 2007 US diplomats reported multiple instances where “funds have been diverted and reimbursed claims figures have been seriously inflated”. Despite $55m for helicopter maintenance, sometimes only two Cobra helicopter gunships were ready to fly. Although $335m had been given for medical care and a fleet of 26 helicopters, the frontier corps still had no medical rescue service. The army claimed $70m for radar maintenance even though the Taliban have no air attack capability, and a “highly suspect” $26m for barbed wire.”
“Engagement with the Pakistani military has been frustrating,” one dispatch said. “Transparency is often nonexistent. Offers of assistance go unanswered or are overruled at headquarters, even as Pakistan’s maintenance and training are inadequate.”
Washigton, Dec 1: Another shocking news was exposed by whistle-blowing website WikiLeaks. The newly released 2.5 lakh United States diplomatic cables revealed that the Islamic country Saudi Arabia wished for a second military rule in Pakistan.
The WikiLeaks data exposed that despite of good relation with Pakistan, Saudi monarchy headed by King Abdullah wished for a second Musharraf, whom they can trust.
According to a report about WikiLeaks in guardian, King Abdullah preferred Nawaz Sharif over the president Asif Ali Zardari. King Abdullah defined Zardari as the “rotten head that was infecting the whole body”.

In Jan 2009 during a talks with James Jones, then the US national security adviser, Abdullah told that Pakistan’s army was “staying out of Pakistani politics in deference to US wishes, rather than doing what it ‘should’”.
In another diplomatic cable, an American guest to Saudi told that Saudi was looking for another Musharraf, a strong, forceful leader they know they can trust.

WikiLeaks throws tons of dirt, shame on Pak players
Thursday, December 02, 2010 By our correspondent
WASHINGTON: The massive deluge of WikiLeaks disclosures hit the Pakistani political scene on Wednesday when stunning details of secret, behind the door conversations, assessments, invectives and decisions were released, gunning down almost every big political player in the country.
The major bombshells revealed are:
General Kayani thought of removing and sending Zardari into exile during the Long March days;
Asif Ali Zardari disclosed that Benazir Bhutto had come to Pakistan after getting “clearance” from the US;
Zardari had promised immunity and safe passage to Musharraf before becoming the president;
Musharraf wanted to sack Kayani because he was not helping; Faryal Talpur has been named as Zardari’s successor and the next President of Pakistan;
General Kayani says Faryal will be a better president than Zardari.
Zardari showed Benazir’s will to Anne Patterson to convince her that he was the genuine heir;
PM Gilani approved the drone attacks; Gen Kayani wanted to remove Zardari and elevate Asfandyar Wali as president;
ISI chief tells the Americans Zardari is corrupt;
Maulana Fazlur Rehman asks Anne Patterson to support his PM candidacy;
JUI chief hinted his votes in NA are up for sale
Asfandyar Wali asks for US help to convince Nawaz Sharif and Zardari;
Kayani tells Patterson he dislikes Nawaz more than Zardari;
Zardari says Amin Fahim had spent most of the 2008 election campaign in Dubai with his latest 22 year-old wife and was simply too lazy to be prime minister;
UK Air Force Chief, Marshal Sir Jock Stirrup called Zardari a numbskull who knows nothing about running a country;
US Embassy says Zardari government is weak, ineffectual and corrupt;
Bureaucracy is settling into third-world mediocrity;
Nawaz assured the US he supported them; militants driving agenda in Pakistan’s war on terror;
Nawaz wanted to bring Dr AQ Khan into politics
Mumbai attacks closed the door on Kashmir discussions between India and Pakistan;
And many more.
These intimate details reveal that relations between Pakistan and the US on the one hand and between top politicians of the country on the other hand are based on total hypocrisy and shamelessness and no one is sincere to any one, neither can anyone be trusted, whether speaking publicly or privately.
As these documents and papers are only available up to early 2009, it is yet to be seen what lies in stores of similar papers in later months as those papers will reveal the real face of the Zardari regime and what the US and other countries genuinely think about him and his party.
As these dumps of information behind closed doors are being unloaded, there appears to be a stunned silence at the government and the political and military level as every party assesses the damage inflicted and how severely positions have been compromised.
‘The News’ has devoted special space to cover these leaks as exhaustively as possible in these pages.
Re: Wiki leaks........... possible impact on pakistani politics ?
i personally think we should be thankful to wikileaks for exposing our politicians and generals...
Now you know that how they behave with politicians, Otherwise they have another option to kill them someway.
Remember no one of them was killed any way except Sardar ul munafqeen who died in air ...... .
Re: Wiki leaks........... possible impact on pakistani politics ?
Yaar US suffers no real consequences from all this. Infact what they gain is they created mistrust among muslim nations with a sure shot. Those who doubted are no longer in doubt. Thats the start and end of this whole ordeal. Psychological warfare to change mass opinions.

It is also very eays to forget equally Munafiq people killed in suicide blasts and hanged! For every finger you point at others, there are THREE pointing back at you.
I am not defending Zia Ul Haq but simply reminding you that you are in no position to throw names around when you support politicians who are as equally as bad.
Re: Wiki leaks........... possible impact on pakistani politics ?
Zardari more slave then first thought. Nawaz Sharif is no better. He is not the option for Pakistan if Pakistan wants to move forward. Who can blame both of them?
Both have billions dollar worth of business to do with U.S. England....
But its Gilani that is showing the type of snake he is. Munafiq, tells the U.S. to keep bombing, he could care less who dies. From most accounts his son is one of the most corrupt people in Pakistan right now.
Fazlullah was never an option, but i guess he thought he was.
The only people that come out clean from this report so far are
Jamaat-Islami, Imran Khan Tehrek Insaaf and the Chief Justice.

U can add MQM to your list as well...
anyway, the reason are clean is maybe because JI or Imran never had any significant position the govt nor does they had enough power in the assembly to effect the decisions...
if this has to be the criteria, then the leader of all time corrupts ( except Zardari) Choudries of Gujrat are not in the list as well... not in the negative way...
Not that i am doubting Imran Khan, but we can only find it out about him once he is in power... adn yes you are right.. NS and ZARDARI and their parties are hopeless cases.. they are in politics just to get their chances to have their hands on our wealth.. nothing more...
