Wigs/extensions

has anyone ever worn wigs/extensions? or would anyone here try them?
I’m seriously considering it except for the fear that:

  1. my real hair will be ruined.

and 2. ill get so used to seeing long luscious thick hair…that I will be severely unhappy with my real hair…

Re: Wigs/extensions

I recently purchased halo extensions for my friend. You wear them like you wear a head band. No clips, no bumps and it mixes right in with the real hair. I seriously could not tell a difference even after I ran my hand through her hair. They gave her a lot of volume without looking fake. They cost over $300 because they are made of real hair. They don't pull/ruin hair and that is the best thing because her real hair is very thin/prone to breakage. She doesn't even tie it up because it breaks so easily and she's shedding like crazy.

As for getting used to the look, my friend's hair is shoulder length and I got her the same length extensions (longer are more expensive I think). Our goal was to provide volume and I feel that she feels more confident now when she goes out wearing them. As long as she is not depressed about her hair all the time I am happy with her getting used to seeing thick hair ...

Re: Wigs/extensions

Extensions - yes, wigs - no.. Don't think I've ever seen a desi girl wearing a wig..

I have extensions that are put in individually and last for several months.. The halo method also looks brilliant (and completely non-damaging) but I'd feel a bit self-conscious in case they set off metal detectors and so on :D

Re: Wigs/extensions

I've had extensions put in before.....the fused type.
Hated them.....maybe because I got them too long....wanted long hair for a wedding that I attended and just got sick of them.

I prefer the clip-in ones for when I want to do something special.

Re: Wigs/extensions

wearing clip in extensions. my own hair are a third of what is in pic.

Re: Wigs/extensions

unless ur doing it for volume,.. i dont like them :(

Re: Wigs/extensions

extensions.

Re: Wigs/extensions

Get the clip in extensions

Re: Wigs/extensions

Clip in extensions shouldn't ruin your hair. But yes, you might get use to it. I love flaunting long hairs and my hairs are short :( So 'm kinda used to it.
