For some reason, my laptop can’t find any wireless Internet anymore. I checked the router and it seems to be working fine, my desktop is working fine with wired connection to the router. I suspect laptop, because it can’t find my neighbours’ three other secured wireless networks either, which it always used to. There was a virus that my antivirus was combatting for last one week, I don’t know if it has done any damage. I checked the configuration and drivers etc etc. All look good, by still no network will be detected by my notebook.
Nahi yaar. Its not proxy. I ran ipconfig, net view etc. The problem is not getting onto Internet, but to be able to connect to wireless network. I use drive mapping and shared printing internally in home network, so it is not connected to the wireless router. And as I said, the notebook is not able to browse any WiFi in range, not even my neighbours, which are always there even if my network is down. My router is working for my desktop and even when I plug ethernet cable to my notebook, it works fine. But wireless does not. So I am highly suspecting notebook's wireless capability is effected. Can a virus do that ?
Is there any other way to test notebook's wireless connectivity?
Connect ur laptop through wired network to check if networking part of Windows is working OK. If you are successful then u need to delete the wireless network card from device manager & redetect and trying re-installing all wireless networking part.
Make sure ur wireless card is active (blue light is ON, hardware switch is turned to ON position).
If nothing works & since u have backed up ur laptop, rebuild it.
