WIFI CONNECTION?

Re: WIFI CONNECTION?

Folks, she has an iPod Touch, not an iPhone. Her device has no phone in it, so there is no way she can just get a "data plan" and be all set. Some times you techie whiz kids make me roll up my eyes with your clueless and over-anxious put downs.

Sabriya, your iPod Touch can connect to internet using a wireless WiFi connection. If you intend to use this feature in your home then you will need to have highspeed internet access in your home AND install a WiFi accesspoint. From a cost stand point, it is barely a $50 investment, but if you are not familiar with how to set it up, you may want to get a friend or a professional to help you with it. If you already have a wireless set up in your home, then it is likely secured too (by whoever set it up) and you will need to get that passkey so you can enter it in your iPod before you can begin to use it. Check from whoever had set up or manages your home net work.

When you are out and about and want to connect to internet on your iPod Touch, you'll have to find a free/open WiFi location. This is the one which shows no lock next to it in the WiFi list on your device.
