Hello everyone,
My wife is coming to the US for the first time and she asked me my opinion on what type of clothes I would like her to bring. She wants me to send her some pics so she can get them sewn. Can you guys post some pictures of a mixed variety of salwar kameez designs you ladies are wearing now and days? Any suggestion by you ladies will be really helpful.

She should bring whatever is in fashion in Pakistan. Those of us abroad, buy our clothes from there and follow the current trends in Pakistan. Tell her that pretty much every thing from there goes.
Edit: My comment assumes that your wife lives in Pakistan and is coming to the US from there.

But isn't she going to like wear western clothes there? If she wants shalwar Kameez only to wear at parties and get together then she should get formals and semi formal shalwar kameez so that she can wear them accordingly at dinners, shaadis etc...but if shes going to wear shalwar kameez only then she can bring from simple clothes to embellished ones...but yeah whatever is in Fashion in Pakistan these days is what girls wear here as well..

Lawn suits (summer wear)
Chiffons (semi formal)
Chiffons/other fancy materials (formal, kaam walay suits)
Lilen suits (winter wear)
She is going to need all of the above for regular wear plus all the get togethers. And like Sehrysh said, she should get them made according to the current fashion.

ask her to bring party clothes, semi formals, kurtiz, shawls, few lawns. but ask her to bring only shalwar kameez or what ever the fashion is in Karachi, Lahore or Isloo. even two or three year old fashion works here since the turnover of latest trends is still not compressed to the limit that what ever hits pakistan, comes here right away. it takes some time, and peak season is usually around Eid.
dont ask her to bring any jeans or shirts from there, cuz its pointless.

Yes ladies... She is asking my opinion on clothes she should get for herself. Yes, she is really nice. She always asks me what she should wear, etc. She is not going to be wearing jeans and such. She will dress only in salwar kameez. She hates lambi kameez but I here that is what's in fashion now and days. I told her she doesn't have to get the lambi kameez if she does not like wearing it.

Also, do you see you guys going to Pakistani /desi gatherings? If a lot then more party clothes shall be needed esp. since a lot of people tend to not repeat thier clothes too mcuh due to mostly same people present at each gathering. If she likes more embleshied (kamm waly) clothes its not a problem here because a lot of people wear them here atdesi parties and they don't look out of place.
