Oh this thread reminded me of my grandparents - they grew up during the Great Depression and were quite frugal. My grandpa always said that "if you take care of the nickels and dimes, the dollars will take care of themselves" and my grandmother's favorite quote was "use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without."
Alhamdulillah they were well off, but they never wasted, and never overindulged. I think this generation can learn so much from early ones in this regard.
