Re: Widow kills her neighbour after indecent proposal

If there was something else that was done to the woman, I’m sure the article would have specified it. I think she drove herself to insanity, and was completely insane way before the incident. Anyone in their right mind wouldn’t do what she did. She was obviously a very disturbed individual.

Re: Widow kills her neighbour after indecent proposal

Did no one read .. SEXUAL HARRASMENT? Do you know how horrible sexual harrasment is to the psyche of anyone and especially for a lone woman who happened to be a widow and had no one to talk to about it.

What is everyone focussing on "indecent proposal". Obviously it was not a marriage proposal!

Who knows how long this mental torture went on?

She should be punished for killing him, but I can understand how unbearable it could have been for her, if it went on for a long time.

Re: Widow kills her neighbour after indecent proposal

^ I agree. She was a victim of sexual harrasment. If such victims have some sort of support system, someone they can talk to & trust about the whole situation, who’d give sound advice and help them deal with it in a sensible manner, it’s most likely they wouldn’t take a step so drastic. To be able to comment or form opinions on the case, its imperative to understand where this woman is coming from and what happened with her.

it’s funny that anyone would term an ‘indecent proposal’ as simply a ‘proposal,’ as though women should consider these as normal as a job offer or something, not letting it disturb them mentally, just calmly saying ‘no’ if they’re not interested and moving on. supposing - since almost all of the posts in this thread are based on assumptions - this woman had already said no, not once, but twice, thrice, god knows how many times?

It’s not about condoning killing in any way - infact she should be meted out whatever punishment she deserves for murder - but just that the details of the case are not given - so it’s stupid on anyone’s part to to declare her insane or say the guy mustve raped her.

those few words - if continually thrown at her, can destroy a woman’s self esteem, confidence and can have a very negative effect if she’s already lonely and living life one day at a time.

Re: Widow kills her neighbour after indecent proposal

If he didn't do anything physically to harass or abuse her, she shudn't have killed him.
