I’m buying this TV for my bedroom. If someone has a better alternative in mind then please let me know. It is around $3500. I’m getting it for $2999 plus a free stand. It’s a Samsung ![]()
Re: Widescreen HD-Ready DLP Television
Is it the one with the pedestal stand?
For a bed room???
Its pretty good actually. Though, may be considered an overkill for a bedroom. A plasma or LCD (30 - 42") may suit better in a bedroom, but up to you. I don't know the size of your bedroom, so can't say:)
Re: Widescreen HD-Ready DLP Television
Nice tv but for bed room. you sure? When we were tv shopping we thought about getting the 61' too. As far as I remember this tv comes in three sizes, 46,50, and 61, which one are you getting? And I hope you do know that this TV has a bulb built in that needs to be replaced every 3-4 years, and the cost of the bulb is $300-400.
Other than that, the TV is great. We got the 60' Sony LCd with hdtv tuner built in and We love it.
Re: Widescreen HD-Ready DLP Television
No, the only tv’s that come with pedestal stand are Plasmas and LCDs.

Re: Widescreen HD-Ready DLP Television
oh you mean the built in stand? BTW, this TV is discontinued, samsung no longer makes it.
Re: Widescreen HD-Ready DLP Television
My bedroom is actually bigger than my living room, that's how they have designed the house so I think 50 inch is just the right size. Faisal, which one do you recommend?
Mahnoor, do you have a seperate audio system or are you using Sony's speakers...that TV is something..it is 15K or something, right?
Yea, you are right about replacing the bulbs...I didn't like that part as well.
Plus, I'm not sure if it has built in tuner...I will check that out too.
Re: Widescreen HD-Ready DLP Television
I am sure you are in a better position to decide based on your room size, but to put a DLP in a bedroom seems like an overkill and may not be aesthically pleasing either.
I would have recommended a 42" Plasma that you can hang on the wall.. something like this..
Panasonic TH-42PD25U/P
The updated version has HD Tuner built in. Read Review](http://reviews.cnet.com/Panasonic_TH_42PD25U_P/4505-6482_7-30916296.html?tag=topprods) here.
Re: Widescreen HD-Ready DLP Television
I would buy one of these yesterday. My problem is the entertainment unit that my tv is on. I have to replace that with something that would accomodate all my DVDs and CDs and components and yada-yada. What a pain, my house doesn't have a basement.
Re: Widescreen HD-Ready DLP Television
If you really want this TV then I would suggest the 50 inch. No our Tv was only $4000.00, we got the warranty which was another $600.00 , stand $499.99 , and Bose’s lifestyle system either 28 or 38(not sure about the model number)
The built in tuner is only good for local channels, you would still need HD source or a receiver to get the HD signal. The built in tuner is good for people getting their programming through an antenna
Re: Widescreen HD-Ready DLP Television
Well, I shopped the whole day pur dil nhin mana ![]()
I think it has to do with the fact that I can’t see dishnet work channels anymore…I hardly watch TV now.
Am I changing plans? ![]()
