[QUOTE]
When people feel like they have no sense of direction, no purpose in their life, it’s because they don’t know what’s important to them, they don’t know what their values are.
And when you don’t know what your values are, then you’re essentially taking on other people’s values and living other people’s priorities instead of your own. This is a one-way ticket to unhealthy relationships and eventual misery.
Discovering one’s “purpose” in life essentially boils down to finding those one or two things that are bigger than yourself, and bigger than those around you. It’s not about some great achievement, but merely finding a way to spend your limited amount of time well. And to do that you must get off your couch and act, and take the time to think beyond yourself, to think greater than yourself, and paradoxically, to imagine a world without yourself.
**We all start with Nothing when we are born…fully dependent on our Parents if we are lucky!..“Hoping for Luck”
we all learn to do our part…i.e. our effort for what we want!..Baby cries for Mommy to feed him or change him!..“Hoping she is a Good Mom”
I think it is the same for All of us! only our goals keep changing as we grow older!
So the “Why” in your Question is totally related to our age and experience at the time! and the attainability of our Goal!..Lots of Hope involved here too"
We all go through the thought process of whether our goal is achievable?
So if it is an achievable goal! …“Hoping it is”
The Why becomes a WHY NOT!..**.
I know that is an oversimplification of the question you asked!
What drives me is find happiness and satisfaction in myself and people around me. Those I care about take precedence. and then even those who are strangers. Sadness is the worse thing to see or feel.
Another thing is that I dont wana be dependent on anyone. Like literally noone in this world.
Thats why at times when I end up in a very uncertain situation where I've no influence over the variables playing the vital role, it really bothers me. That feeling of helplessness kills. And the only way out is get to know your stuff very well
Most People are and like to be Independent, and that is what Motivates All of us! We do our thing in this World and we Leave! We Did not choose to be here and we Do not control when or “Why” we will Leave!
Or if we choose to be a Hermit and completely Drop Out and Contemplate Our Navel Like Buddha Did! Then the paradox you mentioned “imagine a World without yourself” happens!
Seems You are at a Cross Road and have to make a Big!.. Very Big Decision!
Not being dependent on anyone is a Why but how is happiness a why ? As in happiness tou choti choti cheezon se bhi mil jati hai. Is finding happiness the driving force in your major decisions?
PS: Make lots of dua for not being dependent on anyone. I do that too. I keep asking Allah to not make me physically, financially or emotionally dependent on anyone except Allah.
I know my ‘Why’ . I’m just working on how to reach there. I had an easy step by step plan but the current COVID related lockdowns halted it so I’m trying to find a workaround.
