WHY!?!

Why do men think its funny to joke about being allowed to practice polygamy in Islam and like bringing up wife #2,3 and 4 so much? Normally I would just go along with the joke but its just been tried TOO much and its NOT funny anymore!
Once they get ‘that glare’ from their wives, men should know it’s probably a good time to just stop. But no, they have to push it don’t they?

Re: WHY!?!

A man and his three religiously allowed wives walk into a bar...

Re: WHY!?!

I thought it was 4? but thats besides the point!

Re: WHY!?!

Talk about the hot guy you saw earlier in the day..

Re: WHY!?!

i think it varies from man to man.

some men find it funny so they do it without any intentions to hurt anyone. (they see it as a humour)

some just to do it get some attention.

and some do it to perhaps make their wives feel jealous or hurt her (agar mian biwi ka koi masla chal raha ho)

Sorry, Bluebells.

Re: WHY!?!

I agree, polygamy isn’t funny. It’s hot. :smokin:

Re: WHY!?!

Haha no! I got what you were saying. I just thought I'd follow up Jaanwar :p

Re: WHY!?!

Maybe not to you but don't you think they'd stop if they didn't it entertaining anymore. Speaking for myself, jokes take a long time to get old for me, so maybe the you're thinking of also share that trait.

I'll take a wild guess and say that "that glare" is what they're going for in the first place. If they were to stop getting it, they might stop with those jokes.

Re: WHY!?!

Because men are more religious? trying to follow Islam? :hmmm:

Re: WHY!?!

hahah

Re: WHY!?!

Normally 'the dude' jokes about it and once I get really riled up, he tries to calm me down by saying something like "you're my #1,2,3 and 4 rolled up on one perfect package' or something ridiculously cheesy and cute like that.
But tell me if this is taking it too far. 'The dude' is sorta 'religious' and was talking about one of his friends from the MSA was was preaching the 'brothers' about how they should be doing their part by marrying multiple times because there are a lot of Muslim girls especially in the the West who can't seem to be getting married and since it is allowed in Islam, if they have the means and wife's permission of course, they should help those sisters out. I told him if he has started to get any ideas from his fella 'brother' he should probably forget about it because by the time we get married (took us two years to convince our families and the engagement happened last month) he will probably not want to go through it all over again. He said I should always say inshallah to that because it is still allowed in Islam and even though he doesn't want to marry anyone besides me , just because it's allowed in Islam and we never know about the future I should always say inshallah cuz the possibility might arise and he doesn't want that either.
I do see his point and it's not like he said he will ever go for it, but the fact that he is seeing it as a possibility is bothersome.

Re: WHY!?!

BlueBells, Balls? It's a floweeeeer guys. Flower!
I'm thinking about a name change now.

Re: WHY!?!

Question to ladies, when we men talk about second marriage or polygramy in funny tone.. do you women feel it.. or shuddered ?

If it’s in the power of “you species” will you try to stop your husbands talking about it? :hmmm:

Re: WHY!?!

I don't think it's going too far and your reaction to it is funny. I can see why he enjoys it.
