Why?

After 18 children, Michelle Duggar thought she knew what it feels like to be pregnant. But even she was caught by surprise to learn that just eight months after she gave birth to Jordyn-Grace, Duggar baby No. 19 is on the way.

Michelle and family patriarch Jim Bob Duggar sat on the staircase of their home, surrounded by their 18 other children. Behind them and in the center were** eldest son Josh and his wife, Anna, who is expecting the first Duggar grandchild **— a girl — on Oct. 18.

As conservative Christians, they decided after that to let God decide how many children they would have.

They adhere to a Christian movement called Quiverfull, whose members take seriously the biblical exhortation to be fruitful and multiply and believe that every child is a gift from Providence.

All the children are home-schooled and all learn to play the violin and piano. The older children help raise the younger ones under a buddy system.

Ummm seriously? And this is how it used to be back in t he day, in the villages. The mom would pop out a kid, and it’s the older one’s responsibility to raise that child, in essential the sibling’s the parent. But that’s cuz kids died of natural causes. Just because God’s given you the ability to have a child, doesn’t mean you should keep on having them. Just my opinion.

19 :hayaa:

Who pays for all the milk? and baby lotion? :crying:

Re: Why?

i've watched this show a couple of times before. people have all different sorts of beliefs, as long as they pay for their kids and not the whole of america, pop away.

Re: Why?

^ 19 is unreal............I think khumar is right............if the machine is working..........its good but its better not to abuse it...............................

Re: Why?

Re: Why?

You guys obvioulsy have not heard about this :hehe:

19 is not a big number, have met a Mother who gave birth to 22 Children!

after her fifth child the doctors told her not to have anymore her health was in danger...........doctors are not always right :)

Re: Why?

i've seen this show a couple of times. fascinates me everytime when i watch it, that a couple can handle so many kids! but like BF said, if they can afford them, and it's not a burden on society, then i don't think there's any harm in it.

Re: Why?

I still thikn it's unfair. The children are raised under a buddy system. This essentially means that the parental-sibling has had their childhood kinda sorta taken away. they aren't obliged to act like a sibling, but have to act as the parent, because the real parents are too busy acting like rabbits.

Re: Why?

18:eek:

Re: Why?

My grandmother had 10, but 19!?! Holy crap.

Re: Why?

i have seen this show many times too...and personally think it is very unfair to kids.
They are all home schooled. One show i watched was when first time ever 4 or 5 of the kids visited a highschool with their mom, and they were so nervous becuz they had never seen a school before. Seriosuly I just find it disturbing. So now the older daughter is probably gonna follow mom's footsteps and pop 20 kids.

Re: Why?

:hinna:

It almost seems like the purpose of life is to produce babies. That’s it.

Re: Why?

"Human Xerox Machine"

Early marriage and belief of not using contraceptives or methods.

This belief essentially means none of the act between husband and wife should be 'wasted'.

Anyone saw the documentary on Roman Catholics role in prohibiting contraception even if it is for the protection from diseases like AIDS? It was on air few days ago.

Re: Why?

I think it is unfair to the children. Education must teach us something or must we remain barbaric even in this day and age?

Well 19 kids are amazing but if they can afford it and above all mom’s health is fine who are we to say.And again I think :bummer: “jis jaan nay anaa hai jaahaan anna hai woh aa ker rahey gi”

Re: Why?
